Well, not never, Since 1980 we have played Western Carolina

5 times (last in 1995), Appalachian State 4 times (last in 1997), UT-Chattanooga (1992) and East Tenn. St. (1993), but yes, there is a preference to keep the money in state (Furman, Wofford, The Citadel, and even SC State, Coastal Carolina and Presbyterian).
