Parking is one reason,

The lots are full during the day with people who work in the inner city.

Chicken game? They'll be scrounging for copper and catalytic converters on 12/3 while we're playing..

For as long as I can remember, the SECCG is afternoon, ACC gets the night slot. Kind of fun sitting at Draught pregaming and watching that one, fwiw..

Ive wondered this as well. The game would be much better in the afternoon slot since it is outside and the SEC game is indoors. Just my opinion I will be there either way.

ESPN is a private company that is in the business of making money.

They will broadcast the Big XII game at noon.
They will broadcast the Sun Belt game at 3:30 (while CBS shows the SEC game)
They will broadcast the ACC game at 8pm (while FOX shows the Big Ten game)

You could argue that the ACC game should be moved to noon and swapped with the Big XII.

But the people charged with maximizing profits at ESPN have decided that the 8pm slot is best.

The TV schedule is what it is because those in charge believe it will maximize their profits. No other reason.
