This is not the downfall of Clemson football. Dabo has not "sank his own ship". In the Playoffs Clemson plays elite teams. Just as elite as Clemson is if not more. So if you have a bad day you get exposed just like Oklahoma, Ohio State and Alabama did when Clemson beat those teams by 4 tds plus. I think Dabo and this staff have coached their behinds off the last 2 years. Yes they missed on DJ but not one of us foreseen his demise. Cade WAS NOT READY. His play in the ACC Championship wasn't a surprise but he played better than they thought and what he had shown. That doesn't mean Cade isn't going to be great, it just means he needed a little more time while hoping DJ would continue to play the way he did the first half of the season. Unfortunately that didn't happen. Look back at all the Playoffs, what is the one thing 95% of them have in common, great to elite QB play. Last season Clemson had a defense that was Playoff potential but the offense wasn't. Most of that was on DJ. Yes the WR haven't been great but you don't know what it takes at this level to keep dialed in each and everyday as practically a kid when your QB is putrid. That isn't an excuse bc you have to make those plays its just a part of a bigger picture of the problems with the offense. Clemson has went through a lot especially this year with the breaking in 2 new coordinators. Georgia wanted Monkin fired after his first year. Not saying this is the same but let these guys at least get a year under their belt and figure things out before we crucify them. These guys are only going to get better with experience. They are 11-3 as coordinators. When Dabo brought BV and CM in he wasn't looking for a coach to help Clemson he was looking for a system that would be Clemson's offense and Clemson's defense. He then brought guys in to be understudies to those coaches learning Clemson's systems. Which is why you got guys that have been hired from within the program after CM and BV. Dabo isn't looking to change systems and have his players learn new playbooks every 2 years. That isn't a recipe for success at Clemson. Like Timmy B said the other day, Clemson is not built like those other schools and Dabo doesn't want to build Clemson like those schools. You can criticize and whine all you want but it's a selling point to recruits. It's why Clemson tends to get a different kind of young man. Not saying they are better or not just that they are a little different in their demeanor. See some of you want to win at any cost and that isn't the Clemson way under Dabo. I mean you can feel about that any way you want to but your feelings don't matter. If you don't like it quit spending your money or watching or attending games I guess. Maybe find a new team but continuing to whine and cry and kick your little feet like an infant isn't change anything. Dabo isn't going to put his faith and morals on the line bc a few fans don't like that he only won 10 and 11 games the past 2 season. With that said you can bet your last dollar that Dabo hates to lose as much as any of us and if you don't think he is and will do everything to be the best Clemson possible then I don't know what coach you have watched the past 14 or 15 years. Regardless of what some may think Clemson is not far from being back where they are. No they don't need portal players and no they don't need to pay for selfish players that only care about themselves. Yes things need to be tweeked but Clemson has everything they need. Some fans have become what most of us said they would years ago which is spoiled entitled fans who when the team wins 10 or 11 games it isn't good enough. I can't prove things that haven't come to past but I can say that Clemson will be back at the top of the mountain and the main reason is bc of the man in charge, DABO. The bandwagon is going to slow down now so some can jump off without getting hurt but hurry bc we about to go full steam ahead again.
