Better beat UK. We have all just seen how the SEC superiority narrative has real world implications. To the point I think the UK win over Louisville was likely a factor in the undefeated ACC champion being left out.

It's simpler than all that. They just wanted the SEC champ in. They've invested too much money to keep them out.

Didn’t help that they were the 2nd place team in the ACC and the game was as bad as we have witnessed so far, at least to me, since this game started.

If SEC team wins = true then 'SEC most dominant conference ever'
If SEC team wins = false then 'Didn't want to be there'

I agree, but I’m also a pessimist and believe it won’t matter. Things like fact and logic went out the window long ago and was further exemplified yesterday.

I remember a handful of years ago when it seemed like the entire SEC West was ranked at the end of the season. Then the bowl games came and they were and absolute dumpster fire. Did it change the perception? No. They were all ranked again at the beginning of the following season.
