Xavier Thomas being held in the backfield

2

Sep 26, 2023, 4:23 PM

Does anyone have a still shot of Xavier being held in the backfield against FSU? I was in the crowd and there was one play I remember where he was about to pressure Travis but the O lineman was holding him like he was hugging him. The ref was right there but didn't call holding. I'm looking for a screen shot of that play. Thanks!

There are several of those occasions.***

Shameful.

Hope to not see any holding calls against our O-line the rest of the way. It's only fair.

According to TNet we are held on every play,

but we never do the holding.

XT doesn't have huge stats but seems to be moving well, has good speed and in good shape i think he will finish well. also holding seemingly is ignored so much by officials now it will have to be coached differently imo by DL and OL coaches in college and pro.

Wonder why some lines gets the flag and other teams don't. Watching football, it seems like some teams get holding calls, yet others don't... but it looks clear.

We're 16th in number of penalties and fsu is 52nd. Btw in #of penalties.

Some teams are better at hiding it.

We seemed to get away with our fair share of PI’s under BV, but that’s bc DBs knew how to conceal it—never extend arms and make sure WR engages. Same could also be said with some of our WRs of the past like Williams and Higgins. But, holding happens every play. It’s insane that on a 3 man rush with a ref staring right at XT doesn’t call holding on that, but then does it later in the game.

There’s almost always a hold on every play but I’ve never seen a player get held as much as XT does. To make it worse he never gets the call either.

Refs have to have enough guts to call it until they stop it. Have a thick skin.

Im going to be honest those refs let both OL get away with murder. On Cades like 12 yard run for a first there was holding not called. It was a hold fest by both.

done to DEs what the NFL did to the DBs in the NFL. Everything in favor of the O. My question who at the college level is behind this ….. TV guys, conference commissioners or someone else. I mean this is not just an ACC thing. Jas happened longer in the SEC IMO. Officials are managed by the conference so to set it happening across the board tells me this is an edict from further up the chain.

The league has already stopped Duane Heydt from doing any Clemson games as far as I can tell?

…EVERY single ACC football official FIRED and NOT eligible for re-hire. And that INCLUDES the chain gang.

Problem solved!
