Yeah, what the rest of the ACC does doesnt matter

Dec 29, 2015, 7:35 PM

Are you freaking kidding me?! Did you people learn nothing this year about the playoff committee?! A sucky ACC hurts us... it matters! It can hurt ranking, perception, and your chance of even making the playoff. You complain about lack of respect... a tougher ACC is part of getting that respect. I hope the ACC wins every bowl game.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

where would we be ranked if the ACC was good?

is there a higher ranking above #1 that we am not aware of?

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: where would we be ranked if the ACC was good?

Dec 29, 2015, 7:40 PM

Great point Scooter! What's higher than #1?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

A 1 loss Bama almost jumped us

Dec 29, 2015, 7:41 PM [ in reply to where would we be ranked if the ACC was good? ]

Think about that.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Did the one loss Bama team jump us?***

Dec 29, 2015, 7:43 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It was seriously debated by the CFPC

Dec 29, 2015, 7:45 PM

You dont see that as a problem? And it was all bc of ACC-SEC perception.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

And what did they decide?***

Dec 29, 2015, 7:46 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The fact it was debated is the problem

Dec 29, 2015, 7:48 PM

Why cant you comprehend this?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You mean the fact that the playoff committee debated

Dec 29, 2015, 7:49 PM

which team should be number 1 in the standings, then decided it should be Clemson, is a problem?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Are you struggling this much?

Dec 29, 2015, 7:51 PM

Clemson was the clear cut #1... no reason another team should be debated.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I see that they debated the seeding of the top 4 and we came

Dec 29, 2015, 7:54 PM

out as the #1 overall seed after the ACC's undefeated team from last year was #3. It seems like they thought we were the clearcut #1 as well.

I don't see a problem.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So there was not serious debate of Bama

Dec 29, 2015, 7:57 PM

Jumping us? And if so, how do you explain a 1 loss team that beat no Top 10 teams being debated over a undefeated team that beat 3 top 10 teams?

Dec 29, 2015, 8:01 PM

But no I dont think they are the final authority on the rankings

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I really think the Bama thing was played up by the media

Dec 29, 2015, 8:03 PM

moreso than it was seriously debated in the committee meetings. If you ask Jeff Long if they debated putting Bama at 1, what is he going to say? No, not at all?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

One week he said there was serious discussion

Dec 29, 2015, 8:07 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I must have missed that ranking show, what did they end up

deciding to do?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Ill let you figure that

Dec 29, 2015, 8:13 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Probably because they won the deepest division in

Dec 29, 2015, 8:14 PM

college football, they were in the playoffs last year, and if you watched them play, they looked really good.

Does that answer your question?

Dec 29, 2015, 8:19 PM

And I love how you just focus on this year and not the future.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Bama jumped undefeated teams from EVERY conference

Dec 29, 2015, 8:24 PM [ in reply to And... CONFERENCE PERCEPTION ]

this was the second rankings (week 10). They jumped 4 undefeated teams, from other conferences, but NOT Clemson. They even jumped OHIO STATE, the defending National Champ.

there's not much any team - or any conference - can do when dealing with The Bama Syndrome.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF RANKINGS, NOV. 10
RANK TEAM RECORD
1 Clemson 9-0
2 Alabama 8-1
3 Ohio State 9-0
4 Notre Dame 8-1
5 Iowa 9-0
6 Baylor 8-0
7 Stanford 8-1
8 Oklahoma State 9-0

don't kid yourself, that'll never change

Dec 29, 2015, 7:44 PM [ in reply to A 1 loss Bama almost jumped us ]

as long as SECPN is in charge of things. If the ACC had 4 undefeated teams, Bama would still be ahead of 3 of them with a loss (maybe even two).

I don't understand why we continue to debate about conference strength. The rankings are based upon opinion. When a conference is perceived stronger than another it is reflected in the rankings.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Yeah, what the rest of the ACC does doesnt matter

Dec 29, 2015, 9:09 PM

I disagree. I think Clemson , FSU , MIAMI , VT and to a lesser extent GT and UL are all teams that will get invites with undefeated or 1 loss seasons provided they win conference .
It looksto me lile as an ACC team , you may have to win the conference championship and have no more than a single loss on the record to be a playoff team .
I don't get too wrapped up in the media downtalking the league as a whole, we have had a representative in it every year now , so that kind of negates the whole " but your conference is weak " debate .
