Heading into town for lunch meeting a large white Lincoln suv passed me heading toward Keowee.
SUV had Oklahoma U tag on front.
They still have a fine home on the lake..

on the way back. Birmingham would be the stopping point, and my thought process goes, "If I stop now, it will be 2 to 3 hours before I'm in bed (check-in, dinner, etc). In 2-3 hours I'm on the other side of Atlanta, 90 minutes from home. Heck, I'm going." So, home at midnight, but home.
What takes you out there? For us, it is son and his family. He graduated HS while we were there, and went to OK State (Gundy avatar), married an Oklahoma girl, always a wise thing to do. Salt of the earth.

Driven it several times. It’s 21-22 hours from here and I much prefer the southern route even though the northern route is probably a little easier.
OKC is usually a good halfway stopping point along the way.

I could say that I need to go to Red Rock Casino from Sumter and you would find some cockamammie story about how you drove from Pendleton to Henderson, NV and how it was soooooooooo long.
I believe you most of the time, but sometimes I question these threads.

of the time many years ago when I drove from Rock Hill to France to get hammered at the Charles de Gaulle Airport bar on a whim. I had quite the reputation for insouciant charm in my youth.

I had sex in the LAS family bathroom with my girlfriend. We had just arrived. Drunk from drinks on the flight. We got to the hotel and slept for like 4 hours. I have NO IDEA why we didn’t wait till the hotel.
