"I think a president must be a good liar."

This is how one of our fellow Lungers rationalizes voting for Clinton for POTUS. What the #### have we sunk to? When did "liberals" begin so vociferously defending the establishment, as completely exemplified by Clinton and her cronies?

Works for Trump, too

The same people who were constantly nitpicking every impurity in Republicans who could never be conservative enough, or who were always on watch for anything a Democrat said or did that could be used against them, now defend everything Trump does and says. It's like they think the only cure for the corruption they perceive around them is absolute corruption.

I certainly lean left yes but I've been digging into how I would label myself and I seem to be converging on libertarian (small "l").

My statement transcends Clinton.

For the past 8 years, we've had "liberals" defending warrantless wiretapping by the NSA, cheers for attacks on Libya without congressional approval, cries for MORE government in EVERY aspect of our lives (ACA, etc.), and more. It's surreal. And it betrays a lack of integrity from those I prefer to call "progressives," rather than liberals.

I'm not arguing with anything you are saying, I must be missing the point though.
I agree that the term "progressive" and "liberal" is currently undergoing a huge bifurcation though; I believe they are referred to as "regressive" liberals.

I wish people would forget about the personal stuff and vote for a candidate simply based on policy.
You're anti-Trump because he said something that may have been a little racially insensitive.....
I would love to see someone from the anti-Trump crowd make a legitimate, fact based post on why Donald Trump and his POLICIES would be bad for America.

I am choosing based on policy. Sure I don't like him personally but I don't like hillary either. However, Hillary is professional and Trump is a reality TV show clown.
Trump doesn't strike me as a good leader of a country. First of all, his wall idea would be an economic disaster. Have you seen what it would take not only to build but to maintain and man this wall? How does that compare to any gains and what specifically do you think they would be?

My choices are donald trump and hillary clinton. Neither of which represent my views, so it's a choice of the lesser of two evils. It has little to do with the political views I hold because they aren't being represented.

And that's your prerogative; I have no problem with that.
I happen to think it's especially important that Trump does not become president, so i'm taking the only route that has even a minute affect on that (i realize it has no effect here in SC).

Not only that but the policies she's going to continue have led to a stagnant economy and a racially divided country....
That is not debatable.
