Snows didn’t show up on que but I found a few this week. Great time was had by all. We’re feeling the drag after being at it since September.

No sir, just a lifelong addiction to all things waterfowl. Moving out here in the mix of a real flyway just threw gas on the fire.

I've spent a lot of time turkey hunting in the eastern panhandle near Wheeler.Headed there soon. It is my opinion that the wind on Earth comes out of a hole near there.

It must be fun trying to shoot those geese if they're passing over with the wind, but fairly easy shooting them decoying into the wind.

Congratulations on a great season!

Just to the northeast of me here they recorded 114 mph wind speeds last Sunday afternoon.

Good luck on the turkeys, I’ve never been turkey hunting. They don’t fly enough to peak my interest.

Don’t start if you’ve never been.

I’ve hunted waterfowl all over, doves and pigeons in Argentina and done a lot of quail hunting in the past, but nothing has grabbed me like turkey hunting.

Tom Kelly who is an excellent writer on turkey hunting has a statement, “I do not hunt turkeys because I want to, I hunt them because I have to.”

Don’t start.

Sound advice. By the time spring turkey season rolls around I’m whipped from a 7 month straight run of waterfowl so I don’t have the energy to go. A good friend of mine from the low country comes out to hunt ducks for 3-4 days every year and he would quit all things waterfowl to add one more tag per season on turkeys. They travel all over the county chasing them. He gave me the same advice, don’t start.

So true. When you call and that gobbler answers - that may be the most exciting feeling I have ever had hunting or fishing. You have more personal interaction with the animal when hunting turkeys than just about any other type of hunting.
