the top of the order a bit. They have been absolutely struggling. Cam does not look the same as he did last year and earlier this year.

We seem to have a small amount of Monte's free 90's mentality left over. Just swing the dang bat. We are starting to stand there and try to get every pitch on the corner as a ball. Just hit the dang ball!!

with the bat on our shoulders on good pitches to hit, and then swinging at garbage because we are now behind in the count. Like FatBastard once said about food, "I eat because I'm fat, and I'm fat because I eat. It's a vicious circle." We guess wrong with the bats planted on the shoulder, and then miss when we guess wrong again swinging at bad pitches. It's a vicious circle.

76er you hit the nail on the head. Cam especially seems to be squatting and taking pitches right down the middle and then swinging at pitches off the plate or over his head. It's like his world is appearing in a mirror all of a sudden.

shouldn't be taking so many pitches. But that relief guy last night kept them off balance - hard to hit a curve if you are looking on a 94 MPH fastball.

Correct!! Cam is doing a lot of showboating and has turned into a hot dog. He is loafing around in the outfield like he is on weed or something. Seems like he is doing more things to bring attention to himself rather than concentrating on playing the game. His pitch selection lately has been atrocious as he is taking some really hittable strikes and swinging at a lot of bad pitches. Seems like his concentration at the plate has been off this year and the hot dogging might be a part of it. Sometimes his body language says that he really does not want to be here. Sad, because that boy has a ton of talent as a hitter. Last year he was a ball of fire but this year seems like a dude just punching a time clock every day.
