Do you give Pearman a couple of series vs UGA

if he continues to consistently show the things he showed during the Spring game in Fall camp? He did it with Deshaun and Trevor. We know Dabo will give Cade every opportunity to be QB1 and to prove it on the field, but if Pearman does end up being the best QB on the roster at the end of camp (and the team knows it), I'd be curious to see if Dabo would have the guts to at least go to a two QB system in the first 4 games before completely handing over the reins to Pearman. I think we'll know if we've got the same ol' Cade vs UGA pretty quickly if the ball doesn't come out quick and decisive early in the game.

Cade totally implodes (throws a couple of interceptions in a row, has another goofy scoop-n-score fumble or two like in the Duke game last season). Otherwise I don't see Dabo making a move.

I mean, no! If you don’t have one quarterback, you don’t have a quarterback. Maybe Pearman has grown into an elite QB after never performing as one ever in his career. We all know he’s a nepotism scholarship at best. Pearman is the nuclear option. With Deshaun and Trevor the writing was on the wall; generational talent behind an upperclassmen with limited abilities. Dabo was waiting for the light to switch to on. In all honesty, Vizzina has the most realistic chance to supplant CK based on physical stature and High School performance. Could Pearman come in and perform like Brock Purdy for the niners? Absolutely. Is it likely to happen. Not very.

Heck no, Pearman performed awesome in the spring game but Dabo is married to his QB1 until he absolutely has to make a switch he won’t. Clearly Trevor and Deshaun could have started day 1 but he didn’t make the switch right away. Dabo is loyal and I respect him for it.

were our future at QB. We didn't know then how pivotal those two individuals would be to our success. The phrase "generational talents" has been used often. We certainly know what the LACK of a top flight QB looks like now. I still say we would have won three Nattys in a row if DW4 had returned for what I always call "The Kelly Bryant Year" in 2017. QB was the only missing piece of the puzzle, which was remedied the next year with the arrival of TL.
I think it would be beneficial to get Vizzina or Pearman in the Georgia game for a series or two. If for no other reason than, there obviously is no film on them for Georgia to study. There is plenty of film on Cade. Another reason, the saying goes, there is nobody more popular than the backup QB. Getting him in the game, showing the crowd that he is NOT the savior, may quiet the zanies who think they know more than the coaching staff. And, if he WERE to have sudden success, we ride the hot hand.

One of the things I appreciated about Spurrier was his willingness to treat the QB position like every other position on the team. If the first team guy was not playing well, we would let someone else have a shot. I believe sitting the bench for a series or two often gives a guy some perspective and calm where they can return to the game more focused and composed. Not sure if CV or Pearman would be the 2nd guy off the bench and doubt it happens but maybe a good idea.
