While no red blooded American supports the evil that is Russia, how can any of you sit here and bash a kid for coming to Clemson just because of where he is from?
For all of you who bash this kid, did you serve? Did you pledge your life to defend our country? It is obvious this kid didn't for his, yet you sit behind your screens and throw shade, belittle and mock.
Does anyone remember Landy Noko? In his country, gangs terrorize citizens behind a "democratic" government. What about our current students from China or the middle east? What about those from Japan who are descendants of military personnel that attacked Pearl Harbor?
You don't have to agree with someone's birth place, but don't knock a kid who chose Clemson based on your ignorance.
The coot who posted about the cheerleading thing seems like a genius compared to some of you. I knew the capital in SC was full of morons, but I thought we were better than that.

Just here to go on the record as not hating Russia at all. Any American who really knows the truth about what is currently happening in Ukraine understands their position. If we got wind that Mexico was planning to place Russian soldiers and artillery on the US Mexico border, we would go to war to stop it. That is what Russia did to stop NATO from encroaching on it's border
Not only did we not attempt to deescalate the situation, we threw gasoline on the fire and began torpedoing peace deals that could have saved hundreds of thousands of lives and we are still at it to this day. Ukraine will fall before the end of the year and an entire generation of Ukrainian men will be dead for nothing
Lastly, if anyone was ever under the delusion that Ukraine could win (insanity) what did they plan to do about the 6000 nuclear warheads sitting in Russian missile solos? They will turn Ukraine into a pile of dirt and kill millions before accepting defeat. We are helping set the world on fire

No one seems to remember that before this conflict started, we considered Zelinsky an evil tyrant that needed to be overthrown. Zero reason for the US to be sending billions to a war that honestly doesn’t affect our interests in any way. Two madmen in a pissing contest. Neither care about their people or the lives lost.

Except it has sent Russia back 2 decades planning for WW3. They have depleted valuable resources trying to fight Ukraine. It makes perfect since why we are sending money and artillery.

I recall the same situation in Afghanistan some 40 years ago. Th U.S. spent Billions to fight against the USSR invasion. The U.S. gave countless weapons to a known terrorist and he ended up attacking the U.S. with his band of terrorist. Some have forgotten a day that they swore they wouldn't forget. 911. Then we spent Trillions more to eliminate terrorism in Afghanistan 20 years after the USSR tried.

Hey…I understand the sentiment…but I’ve gone back a few pages (admittedly just quickly scanned) and I didn’t really note anyone bashing the kid. Now, I could have missed something, but what I saw was just the usual sarcasm and inappropriate humor (ha!)…well, and the usual suspects who can’t leave politics out of anything. I bet 99% of Tnet and Clemson in general welcome the kid with open arms and wish him well.
