Predicting QB busts

I read an article today that alleged a QB's boom/bust rate could be predicted by looking at two stats with 95% confidence.
1. A sack rate of 8.9% or below.
If they pass that test
2. Average completion yards of 6.5% or above

If the QB missed #1 but passed #2 it would not predict a bust.

If the QB missed only #1 it would predict a 95% chance of a bust.

If the QB passed #1 and failed #2 it would also indicate a bust

If the qQB failed both it would pedict a bust. Meaning you had a QB that could not scramble and was not capable of reading the field or accurate enough to complete downfield passes.

I am not so sure because last year it seemed like the scheme would not allow Cade to pass downfield so IMO he would have been limited in average yards by the dink and dunk pass play calling since they are considered high percentage plays most of the time and the coaches knew the OL was weak.

Thoughts? What stats do you think matter most? I typically look at TD's to Int. Another I might look at it would be completion rate in the redzone.

Before we place Cade on a bust list, let's at least give him a season with a couple to 3 healthy receivers and just a little better improved Matt Luke O line. If he does a terrible job, I'll vote with whoever we need another QB, just sayin!!!

Completion rate of "6.5% " of what?

I think he meant at least 6.5 yards/completion.

All of Clemson's receiver were injured last. From Randall to Collins to others, you name it. Collins was just as much a bust as DJU, and Randall was as injury prone as Joel Embiid. Perhaps Wesco will break out and have a great season, as well as Luke's revamped OL.

I agree. Cade needs a "wake-me -up" season.

The greatest need is to replace the "glass body' receivers. Durability counts. Spector can't catch a cold in traffic. Where have you gone, Hunter Renfrow?
