of the team during her 4 years and the one that was the main reason Clemson Softball was as good as it was but the one that was the heart and soul of the dugout, well that was Millie Thompson. She was the one that knew how to liven up the dugout, keep everybody focused and their feet, get everybody fired up when needed and when things weren't going the way they were supposed to be going and needed to be she knew how to generate the energy in the dugout to get it going.I think we are gonna find out when the 2025 season rolls around just how important she was to the team on and off the field. She will be missed greatly that is for sure... https://www.greenvilleonline.com/gcdn/presto/2023/03/29/PGRE/6c94d46c-f16e-4dd5-8652-352a14681235-0328_Clemson_softball_vs_South_Carolina_03.JPG?width=1320&height=970&fit=crop&format=pjpg&auto=webp

I try to save a life a day, usually it is my own.

Yes, and for some reason, that joy and spirit was largely missing this year.

Millie will SORELY be missed, such an infectiously great personality. Valerie Cagle was the rock the team counted on, but Millie was the comic relief that kept it real.

I was born and grew up in Va. So proud of both of them as they also hail from Va. But I'd like them no matter where they were from. They are great Tigers

Without question, Valerie was a generational player. She will be hard to replace.
