Variant tracking of novel coronavirus - Global subsampling

Thought y'all might find this site handy, if you haven't seen it already. It shows the sampling results for identifying and tracking variants. As you can see, Omicron is currently 21% of the global samples that have been sequenced.

What makes that one better? Nextstrain gives you the info at a glance, and you can mouse over the specific samples, showing the clade and the number of divergences (number of bases diverging from the base sequence)

MUSC says 80%+ now. And MUSC's recent sequences will show

on that website in a few weeks. Most percentages are based on 60 day averages. Places that do a lot of testing you can see 30 day averages. But it takes a week or so to get the sequence submitted and recorded where it will be reflected on most websites. MUSC went ahead and released their sequences earlier directly. So yeah, it's exploding here in SC. It skyrockets once it reaches 40%.

When DHEC gets back from their Christmas vacation tomorrow, I fully expect to see 6,000 cases a day here in SC.
