Heard a coot caller on WCCP earlier that said their program is in better shape after spurrier left than when he arrived even though the W/L's record wont show it. His argument is because the facilities are top notch now because of spurrier.
This made me think about Tommy Bowden. Bowden laid the foundation for where we are right now in terms of facilities did he not? He also had his share of good wins (like Spurrier). But once you look at the big picture neither really achieved anything in terms of championships.
The difference to me and really what my point is is that while both pretty much did the same things at their schools, One school is calling their former coach a hero and talking about building a statue of him, while the other one thanked the former coach and moved on.
