Miles Maynard returns to his Alma Mater to join the Clemson UniversityWomen’s Soccer serving as the Director of Soccer Operations. Maynard holds 6+ years of coaching college and youth ranks at various levels. Most recently, Maynard served as the Director of Girls Goalkeeping with Atlanta Fire United. Maynard also carries a USSF “C” License. Maynard completed a two-year coaching position with the Clemson UniversityWomen’s Soccer coaching staff. Maynard was the Volunteer Assistant Coach for the 2018& 2019 seasons. During his tenure the tigers compiled a 23-16-2 record. In 2018, theTigers reached the semi-finals of the ACC conference tournament and a trip to the NCAAtournament. In 2019, the Tigers made it to the quarterfinals of the ACC tournament andto the second round of the NCAA tournament.
Playing background/experience: Maynard played goalkeeper at Pfeiffer University during the 2013 season. Therethe team reached the semifinals of the Conference Carolinas Conference Tournament. Hethen transferred to the University of South Carolina-Aiken for the 2014 & 2015 season.In 2014, the Pacers were runners up in the Peach Belt Conference Championship. ThePacers made the NCAA Division II Tournament for the first time in program history andfinished with the best record in program history 14-6-1. In 2015, the Pacers made it to theQuarterfinals of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament. The Suwanee, Georgia native played club soccer at United Futbol Academy andattended Lambert High School. In 2012, the boys’ soccer team at Lambert won theGHSA 4A State Championship going 23-0-0. The 2012 team was also named NSCAA(now United Soccer Coaches) National Champions. Maynard graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science inPsychology in 2018, Master of Science degree in Athletic Leadership from ClemsonUniversity in 2020, and a Master of Arts in Teaching Kinesiology/Physical Educationdegree from Georgia College and State University in 2021. He is set to begin his Masterof Business Administration from Clemson University in 2024.
