How does new schedule lower Covid risks?

Jul 29, 2020, 7:32 PM

Seems that all teams are still traveling some long distances. Not sure how this model is any safer than just playing a normal schedule.

The only sense of 2020 is nonsense. #Covid1984

I dont disagree but I doubt it will become an issue. I appreciate the ACC's work but this is window dressing. It is like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic as far as this season is concerned. I dodnt think it will be played

but hey, it gives TNET some much needed fodder...

But I think itll happen.

The schedule change does nothing to decrease risk for players, but I agree with moving forward.

Power 5 teams have the resources and money to test and take precautions that teams like Wofford, Akron, and the citadel don’t. Look at Oklahoma for example, they’re playing a group of 5 team in the first game and paying for the other teams’ testing themselves. I heard it cost like $10K every time Clemson runs a round of testing for the football team.

While I understand the original post....

I do think this is the answer.

I am still not exactly sure how much this might help...but I am excited for football.

Makes sense. Appreciate the answer. Hope it keeps everyone safe and away from this menace. And definitely hoping for a full season of football. It would do us all some good.

I wondered the same thing. It seems to me this is sort of like union busting. It breaks the schedule for a year and leaves the door open to do the same for future years. Long term schedules may be something of the past.

I believe it is just so the conference has control of app protocols and what not. Of course it is all dumb to me but hey it is better than nothing and kind of exciting in a way. Gonna be weird watching without fans tho.

It hardly does. (Fewer games of course do)

Jul 29, 2020, 9:34 PM

But the main thing was to insulate itself from conferences who cancelled all OOC games.
