by -

Deshaun Watson made his first Pro Bowl in his first full season as a starter with the Houston Texans. He is the first Clemson QB to make the Pro Bowl.

Watson was added to the team in New England quarterback Tom Brady's place Monday, after the Patriots clinched a Super Bowl berth Sunday. Watson passed for 4,165 yards and 26 touchdowns and rushed for 551 yards and five more scores this season.

He became the first player in NFL history to throw for at least 4,000 yards and 25 scores and rush for 500 yards and five scores in a season. Watson was also the first quarterback to throw for 25 touchdowns and fewer than 10 interceptions (9) in a season for the Texans.

The second-year pro recovered from a torn ACL suffered last season to finish sixth in passer rating (103.1) and he led the NFL in passer rating over the final nine weeks of the regular season (per Texans PR).

Teammate and former Tiger DeAndre Hopkins was also named to the Pro Bowl but will sit out the game Sunday (3 p.m./ABC-ESPN) due to a shoulder injury.
