Swinney's Wednesday Kelly Bryant status update |
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney updated starting quarterback
Kelly Bryant's status Wednesday morning.
"He's taking every rep and he's doing a great job," Swinney said on the ACC coaches teleconference. "I don't really know of any players that are 100 percent this time of the year anywhere. It's a long season and most everybody's got something that they're dealing with. Kelly looks good and hopefully he won't have any setbacks and will play a great game Saturday." Bryant said Monday that he felt "80-85 percent" on his ankle before his first practice since the Syracuse game. Swinney said after Monday's practice that Bryant was "looking really good out there." The junior QB is second on the team in rushing yards (393) and first in rush attempts (101) and touchdowns (7). He ranks third in the ACC in completion percentage (67.6) and sixth in yards per pass attempt (7.8) with four passing touchdowns to four interceptions. The teleconference was Swinney's last media availability before Saturday night's game with Georgia Tech. The next update on Bryant and other injuries will come with Thursday's injury report.
