Beasley in Top 15 of ESPN Mock Draft 4.0 |
Clemson defensive end
Vic Beasley
Vic Beasley "The Saints' biggest need areas are outside linebacker and offensive line, and they could also look at a cornerback, pass-catcher or nose tackle Danny Shelton, were he still on the board," McShay wrote. "I'll have them go with Beasley. I'm a little concerned by the fact that I don't see much power to his game when I study his tape, but the fact that he bulked up to 246 pounds and put up a linebacker-best 35 bench-press reps is encouraging. There's no questioning his explosive first step or college production, either." Beasley accumulated 33 sacks, an amazing 52.5 tackles for loss at Clemson and was a two-time first-team All-American. He was also selected as the ACC Defensive Player of the Year in 2014. McShay had several defensive end pass-rushers going ahead of Beasley including Dante Fowler Jr. (#5 to the Redskins), Randy Gregory (#6 to the Jets) and Shane Ray (#8 to the Falcons). Other ACC players included in McShay's mock draft include FSU's Jameis Winston (#1), Louisville's DeVante Parker (#10), FSU's Cameron Erving (#18), Miami's Ereck Flowers (#19), Pitt's T.J. Clemmings (#25), FSU's Eddie Goldman (#27), UVA's Eli Harold (#29) and WF's Kevin Johnson (#31).
