True freshman wide receiver Deon Cain was suspended and sent home from the 2015 Orange Bowl trip for reportedly failing a drug test on Tuesday.
An Instagram account linked by multiple media reports as Cain's personal account posted a message about the situation that he has put himself in. "I apologize to any and everyone I hurt or let down. I'm gonna learn from this mistake and become a better person on and off the field. I'm determined to come back stronger than ever before!" #beatOU #orangebowl Swinney said at a Wednesday morning press conference that Cain can return to the football team in 2016 "if he grows up." Cain had 34 receptions for 582 yards and five touchdowns during his freshman campaign. He caught 31% of Clemson's passing touchdowns over the last 6 games according to ESPN Stats and Info.
