Watson voted runner-up for AP Player of the Year

The Associated Press voted Lamar Jackson on Tuesday as their College Football Player of the Year with Clemson signal-caller Deshaun Watson finishing runner-up for the award.

Jackson finished with 46 out of 61 first-place votes and 153 total points. Watson ended up with ten first-place votes and 73 total votes while Alabama defensive lineman Jonathan Allen finished third with 32 votes.

For the season, Watson has completed 329 of 487 passes for 3914 yards and 37 touchdowns. He ranks fourth in the nation in completions, fifth in touchdown passes and eighth in completion percentage and eighth in total offense. His 37 touchdown passes are a Clemson season record.
