4-star 2018 linebacker
Dax Hollifield will announce his college decision on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the auditorium at Shelby High School.
Hollifield will choose from his finalists Virginia Tech, Stanford, North Carolina, and Clemson. Most recruiting analysts have him pegged as a Hokie or a Tarheel but his recruitment could sway to any of the list of aforementioned teams. The big-time linebacker has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Duke, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Maryland, Michigan State, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Stanford, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest. His first offer was from Clemson on 1/23/15. In 2017, Hollifield had 150 tackles including 32 for loss and 6.5 sacks. He also had a monster junior season with 146 tackles, 52 tackles for loss, an interception, and a pass breakup. As a sophomore, he collected an impressive 204 tackles including 38 tackles for loss, 8 sacks, and an interception. As a freshman, he registered 112 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 6 sacks, and an interception. Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables visited him last Wednesday while the recruit visited Clemson last week and his family spent time in TigerTown on Thursday. Wednesday at 11:00 am in Malcom Brown Auditorium at Shelby High School, I will be committing and signing! Come out and show support! ????????? pic.twitter.com/7QtCXBXfOw
