Some play great in practice when there's little to no "real" pressure. Others thrive on pressure and it brings out greatness. We've seen both types come through Clemson over the last decade or so. But what the status quo is, is that the highly rated guy or upperclassmen who looks miles better in practice routinely underperforms in the game and the kid who may not have the typical physical tools comes in and blows the doors off. Are we so far removed from the Tom Brady's and Drew Brees' that we just keep with the status quo and never give the opportunity to the non prototype kid who seems to do everything right all the time and always rises to the occasion when his number is called?
Why can't a QB competion be based on quantitative measures? Games are won with numbers not how a kid looks in practice.
The problem is every drive has mattered in most of the games the last three seasons so Dabo just hasn’t been willing to roll the dice and see if a change can make a difference. Of course the other reasons have been stupidly critical turnovers despite moving the ball and an O Line that didn’t give anybody much of a chance.
