Recruiting Outlook - How I Envision the '24 Class

2

Jun 6, 2023, 6:32 PM

By the end of the upcoming season, were poised to lose anywhere from 15-42 players (Most likely somewhere in the 20's as I got the 42 from number of players that fit the 3 years requirement to forgo eligibility for a shot at the NFL Draft). We'll lose 1 QB, 1-4 WRs (Most likely only 1), Possibly 1-2 TEs (doubtful), at least 3 OL (maybe more depending on how well people like Tate and Leigh play this season), at least 2 DL (again, maybe more depending on the play of Page, Williams, and/or Capehart), 3 DEs, 2 LB (I don't see a scenario where Carter or Trotter stay), 3-4 S (If Mukuba bounces back he's not staying), 1-2 CBs (Depending on Wiggins), and 1 P.

If I had to guess, I'd say the class of '24 will have around 20-26 players. I think we'll be open to oversigning certain positions, such as WR or OL, if the opportunity arises.

With that number in mind, my ideal, but also somewhat realistic class looks like this:

QB - none (we'll go all-in in '25, probably for MacIntyre)
RB - David Eziomume (committed)
WR - TJ Moore (committed), Bryant Wesco, Braylon Staley, and Mike Matthews and Alex Taylor would be oversigns if we lucked out
TE - Christian Bentancur (committed)
OT - Jameson Riggs plus Fletcher Westphal and/or Michael Uini as oversigns
IOL - Casey Poe and William Satterwhite

DL - Hevin Brown-Shuler (committed) and Champ Thompson (committed)
DE - This is the more idealistic part but, Eddrick Houston and Darien Mayo (I would like both, but I can very easily picture is not landing either)
LB - Sammy Brown (committed) and Drew Woodaz (committted) plus a possible oversign of Wyatt Simmons
S - Noah Dixon (committed), Ashton Hampton, and Ricardo Jones with KJ Bolden as an oversign if we got lucky enough
CB - Tavoy Feagin (committed), Corian Gipson, and Omilio Agard

P - Nolan Hauser (committed)

This is just my somewhat realistic perdiction on our class of '24. Would love to know your thoughts, predictions, or wants for this class. I think our team is shaping up to be something special in the next couple seasons, if not sooner!
