Wins and losses or overall team performance. Most will say both, but sometimes a team can play better than another and still loose. Sometimes the most important aspect of a game is player development and maturation. Regardless, Im hoping for a great season with the chance to evaluate the young talent during the season. Oh! And hopefully a college football fantasy league.
Unfortunately,in this day and time, wins and losses. Player developement, and maturation are important, but if a player doesn't mature,or gets in trouble,or as in the case of Chad Kelly, think they are better than the team,or the coach, that player is usually dismissed from the team.Players also run afoul of the law as we have seen in recent years. Team performance is also important, but I would rather get lucky ,and win, then play the game of my life only to lose a game like UGA did against Auburn ,or Bama against Auburn last year.Auburn punched their ticket to the N.C game with those two wins, both of which came on lucky plays. But with the BCS now defunct, and only 4 teams making the N.C.picture,you have to win.Clemson had a good season last year, but ,in reality, was second fiddle to both FSU,and the Gamecocks, and until they win will have to listen to the bull crap that comes from the winner.
Regardless of other considerations, the wins result in

higher rankings, post season play, greater success in recruiting and so forth.
I suppose we could also say that winning is a by-product of better player development, while losing demonstrates flaws in the system.
And here on TigerNet, winning seems to have a more optimistic impact upon the masses, producing moments of great celebration...even amid derailing attempts by certain members.
