ACC should make a rule that if you are representing the ACC

as their CONFERENCE CHAMPION in a bowl game, your players cannot opt out.
I know, they couldn't do that, but man, having the QB of the conference champ opting out of a bowl game is a slap in the face to the conference.

I don’t care one whit for the conference. But he did slap all his so-called “brothers” and “teammates”
Whoever drafts him knows what a POS he is.

I'll bet that prick took the bowl gifts and the free CFA.
You know it, plus all the comps they delivered up in the booth he should not have been watching from.

France lost 1.4 million men in WWI, mostly running over the top of trenches into machine guns, courtesy of genius military tactics thought up by elderly british generals back in allied high command. With civilian losses thrown in, the French lost roughly 4% of their population. Get back to me about what cowards the French are when you've watched 16 million mostly young American kids die in a war that no one could explain to start with, or to end with.

Not really, speaks more to the culture of Pittsburgh than the ACC as a whole. Self above program is what it says.
That said, if I’m a head coach, opt outs pay their own way to the bowl and don’t sit on the sideline.

Possible that Dabo told his players that opt outs would not be part of the team for the bowl, and he didn't have any either. Clemson is one of the very few non CFP teams with no opt outs for bowls. I don't have any information on it, but it does make sense.

Unbelievable that OhioSt players opted out of the Rose Bowl. Just a sad state of affairs even for the big bowl games. Won’t be much longer and that will be normal for the playoff games. Especially once they expand to 8 or 12 teams.

This opting-out business is another modern creation

that speaks to the "Me, me, me and me" culture.
It was a sad state of affairs to see Pickett sitting in the booth with a set of headphones on while his teammates were representing the conference and school...sad because I believe his participation would have made a difference, Pitt and its fans deserved better.

I'm sure Pickett was feeling pretty good about his decision as he watched his replacement get carted off the field early in the second quarter of what is admittedly a pretty meaningless bowl game.

Make the decision to illustrate to these selfish players who turn their backs on their teammates, it will continue.
Look at Sam Howell - playing in a nothing bowl and yet he is out there until the bitter end, getting hammered every play, running the ball and fighting for first downs - that is a guy I would always draft over someone like Pickett. Sam has a foxhole persona while Pickett has a selfie persona.
Glad Pitt lost as I don’t support jerks that are HCs. Also glad Doeren didn’t get his 10th win for the same reason.
