After watching Lawrence last night

There is no doubt he will win at least one Heisman Trophy and one national championship. I think he might even go down as the greatest college quarterback to ever live. I don't want to over blow things but I have never seen a prospect as good as him

They were saying the same about the kid at UGA. I will admit I'm excited about TL but it's a big step from HS to the ACC. You see there is not any 175lb D lineman in the ACC.

To say he is the best HS prospect you have ever seen is one

thing (and I can't disagree), but to say he will undoubtedly win the Heisman and at least on national championship is another. After last night, I too feel that TL is the best HS QB I've ever seen. He certainly has the tools and the potential to win the Heisman, and if I were forced to predict a future Heisman winner from this year's senior HS class, he'd have to be at the top. However, it's almost insane to try and predict that far ahead. If TL stays healthy and adjusts well to college life and college football, then yes, he could do all of that, but there are a lot of variables at play here that will determine those outcomes.

TL committed to Clemson because Clemson would be committed to him. He doesn't need to carry the banner for the program. He doesn't need to be 'The Man'. He gets to be the very talented Trevor Lawrence in an environment that lets him thrive as TL...not as the QB of Clemson Tiger football. XT, Mike Jones, and others have committed for the same reason. They see themselves as young men, first, and athletes who are blessed physically, second. They need a program that will let them be 'them' before anything else. That's Coach...that's Clemson...that's 'The Hills'. Why else does a guy like Shaq Smith swallow his 5-star pride and red shirt. Why does a 5-star Tony Steward fight through rehab? Because they get to be Shaq...and Tony, before anything or anyone else.

I saw TL last night...and I have to say I have never seen a QB through across his body or throw as far as he can without his feet planted...if the Tigers can utilize this kid to the fullest, there is no telling what the Tigers can do going forward...he is the best I have ever seen on any level

Yea, pump the brakes man. There is a massive step he has to take between high school and college. Same as college to the NFL. You've completely over blown it. It's almost more likely that neither of those things happen for him than even one of them happening. Have you ever considered that he may not make the step and never see he field due to the amount of talent already there?

By the end of 2018.
He is a generational talent and frankly, that's not even debatable. Deshaun was a generational player but not a generational talent. TL has a higher ceiling than Deshaun.
Let that sink in for a minute.

Disagree with your view on it. At 6-6 220-225, he will still be big enough to look over his OL as well as Chuck it downfield with ease. DW came on the scene and should have started from day 1. He was that good. I think TL is too.

Just imagine how much better Kirby could Kirby when he wanted to Kirby if he could keep these great in-state QB's from bypassing Athens for Clemson . The Kirbying would be next level then .

remember Willy Korn being annointed as the next Great One, before he even got here. We all know how that turned out. Lawrence has undeniable talent, but as many other posters have said, big boy D1 football is a LONG way from high school. Plus, none of the guys we already have here are going to just roll over and play dead when it comes to giving up the job. He will have to work for it, especially given Dabo's penchant for going with the veteran over rookies.

One step at a time. He needs to break DW's Ga HS records first. I'm guessing he will, but DW's records are in the record book as the current best.
