He gets the most out of his teams in the postseason. His teams usually get better as seasons progress. He’s very diverse in his recruiting. Really Emphasizes speed. I think we can see this much 4 games in. He hates the strikeout. “When it’s less than 2 strikes it’s you’re at bat. When it’s 2 strikes it’s our at bat.” His words These are just on the field observations

so worried about hitting it out of the park on every swing. Coach is coaching and being aggressive. We're actually bunting the ball.
I'm not sure how we stack up talent-wise vs the rest of the ACC. Ask again after dirtpecker series.

This team is extremely aggressive with base running and seem to be fundamentally sound in the field. Pitch selection is much, much better. I'm glad to see that swinging for the fences on every pitch is a thing of the past. More base hits and fewer strikeouts.

Monte Lee decided that the "metric" hill was the one to die on. As much as "metric's" are pushed in baseball these days, the game was not designed around a home run. His approach was tantamount to the football coaches that don't punt on 4th down and the basketball coaches that tell the players to shoot a 3 on every possession.
Statistics are nifty until they don't work.

baseball recruiting, I know that the metric hill is certainly not one to die on and this team has shifted away from that so far. It's good to have that sort of raw power, but mechanical consistency wins big baseball games.

20 strikeouts in 139 official at bats. 1 per 7 at bats. Big time improvement. 8 of those came today. We only struck out 12 times in 107 at bats over the weekend.

Hopefully optimistic. Offensively, more steals, putting the ball in play and even a bunt single today so many positive changes. The pitching has been adequate against the competition. To this point, the Tigers are at the same 4 - 0 start as last year which eventually expanded to 14 - 0 before the wheels fell off. The UofSC series and the first couple of ACC series will tell the tale.

So far reminds me of Jack's early teens. Very aggressive on the bases, making solid contact with the ball. No taking 3rd strikes, so far so good

Patience from many of the hitters is a great sign. Early in the season you often see hitters chase bad putches. This team has a different vibe and is built to score in different ways. Early on it is nice to not hear about the analytics so much. You should pay attention to tendencies and metrics, but in the end it's baseball. Fundamentals on defense and swinging to simply make contact will win many games. Bakich is a lot of ole school with young energy. I'm betting that Clemson has found their next longtime head coach.

Energy is great. I’m sure there will be some downs. I wanna win but I wanna see how we handle adversity. Love the aggressiveness…long ball is nice but so is stealing and reading dirt balls and sac flys and bunts and everything else. Good plate discipline. Sky’s the limit if pitching allows.

On the flip side, Monte at USC has had an impact on the power department but they haven’t played anyone and I bet their k’s jump up this year.
You run in to a good arm that misses barrels and it’s hard to win.
The style Bakich plays allows our team to win multiple ways.
There’s an old saying in baseball, “you can’t outslug everyone all the time.”

Remember our last team under Gamecock Monte started out 14-0. Then we began to play teams with decent pitching and the wheels came off.
