Being negative about Streeter is pretty ridiculous.

Our offense would have struggled this year regardless of our schemes and play calls. If a team is struggling to block, pass and catch, the greatest schemes and play calls WILL NOT WORK.
And to say success previous years was due to really good players is stating the obvious. On what planet where football is played is success not the result of good players? And why should that somehow be used as a criticism of the offensive schemes? If Alabama had 3 star players at every position would their brilliant schemes somehow put them in the playoffs every year? No. A big no.
Lastly, some of you are unbelievably negative and cocksure of yourselves. Have you won 2 national championships as a head coach? Seems that would afford Dabo a little more credit than he’s getting. Geez.

And Gene Chizik deserves a lot of credit for Scam Newton. And Ed Orgeron deserves a lot of credit for Joe Borrowed.

I wasn’t even talking about getting credit for having good players. I was saying good players are essential regardless of the scheme.

So is good coaching... What concerns me about Streeter is the lack of performance by all the QB's on our roster right now - even before Taisun Phommachanh hit the portal. By all indications we don't have a single QB on our roster that has been developed to do the things required to make our offense perform at a level for which it was designed. That is squarely on Streeter to do - take the QB's that he recruits and coach them to perform at a high level. For whatever reason this past year, he has not been able to do that with any of the QB's in our stable (DJ, TP, and HH). Are all these guys recruiting misses? If so - how did that happen and who is responsible?
The sign of a really good coach is not having a DW4 or TL16 kind of guy and lighting up the scoreboard. It's taking average/good QB's and developing them into great QB's which we have yet to see happen under Streeter.

He's responsible for coaching the 120 our of 126 rated qb in the country. Ranked dead last with QBs with 250 attempts. It's either DJ or Streeter that is pure trash. If anything Streeter has to be a better play caller because as a qb coach it doesn't look good.

They probably just missed on DJ. Not as good as they thought he would be. Or a sophomore jinx. We’ll see.
But that happens. Pro scouts get it wrong frequently.

Did they miss on Puma too? Helms? Neither of these QBs really got a legit chance to run the offense this season. Taisun showed promise in the Spring Game while Helms shined against GT in 2020 with our 3rd string O.

how do you miss on a walk on?
TP was a flyer on an athlete with a strong arm from a high school offense that ran the option. Highly rated as dual threat due to this, but never showed remotely any aptitude in throwing the ball, and likely never will

It’s not just DJ. It’s literally every other qb except the generational talents DW and TL. A ton of highly ranked qbs have come through Clemson as back ups and none of them have looked good when thrown into real action (not mop up duty). And the funny thing is when they’ve transferred and gotten different coaching, most of them have looked good. I could throw out a ton of names at other schools where a player has taken over/backup has become a starter and they have been excellent.
This is what’s known as a trend.
And I know someone is going to use Chase Brice against Syracuse as an example, but I challenge you to watch that game again. His throw to Higgins on that 4th and 6 was one of maybe two or three good throws, he was pretty bad the rest of the game. He was 7 for 13 for 83 yards with one int and a qbr rating at 39.3 (for reference, DJs qbr was 40.8 this year).

QB whisperer Cutcliffe and had to transfer to the Sunbelt to find success, what former QB's have left here and found success?
Certainly not 5 star Hunter Johnson.
That we missed in recruiting is arguable. That they weren't developed is highly questionable as no one else developed them either.
DJ could quite possibly be a miss is recruiting. Time will tell. He looks like a poor fit for the current system. How will Streeter adjust to that in the off season? Especially knowing Klubnick does fit what we want from a QB.

Excuse me. None of our players or coaches are trash. If you can’t appreciate them as people and players, take your disrespect somewhere else.

The inability to block, catch and throw the ball - isn’t this coaching? We started in the spring and on the throwing, catching, and didn’t look a lot better at the end. Just unsure why many think Streeter is the answer.
We can only trust that Dabo makes the right choices, and I do.

Long story short, DJ can't move.
Did the coaching staff "miss" on him?................pretty much.
Wasn't the sky going to fall when Chad Morris left?
Hell, the sky was going to fall when Swinney was hired!!
I'm excited to see Streeter at OC. From an opponent's view, there's no info on him.
Life moves forward...........

Missed on DJ. The entire country missed then. He was rated # 1 and Clemson did not give him the rating! And if you can’t see the arm talent He has then I don’t know what to tell you. Actually those last 4 games He ran pretty well even with his knee banged up. He was throwing with a bad index finger. The line was not blocking and receivers dropped passes! I will stick with Dabo and say many many people will have to eat their words when it comes to DJU

In response to your comments: 1) So the response to our offensive ineptitude from our multimillion dollar coaching staff was to stubbornly stick to our scheme like fitting a square peg in a round hole? We didn’t adjust until ~the midway point of the season and by then it was too late to contend for the ACC title and eliminated any CFP aspirations.
2) As much has I hate to admit, Bama’s staff with 3 stars would have better odds of making the playoffs than our staff loaded with 4-5 stars.
3) The 2 Nattys comment is insincere and off-putting as everyone knows the answer. Dabo deserves all the credit in the world for our recent accomplishments and has been handsomely rewarded for it. However, he nor any coach is above reproach - especially when devoted fans can see the benefits of some adjustments earlier then when they actually transpired within the season.
Clemson made a bold move when we hired Dabo as our HC several years ago. The risk provided rewards we never thought possible at the time. Isn’t Best still the Standard?

Streetcar will be very successful here as an OC and play caller, mark it down. Everyone wants to point to the Ohio State game last year but he only had a few days to get ready with TE plays, and the team played bad and still scored 28. So I am exited to see how he does and interested in who will be the QB coach as he might retain those duties too.

1) the adjustment made was to run the ball more. That happened when they finally could run the same 5 OL out there in consecutive games. You really expected us to pound the ball behind an OL that was patchwork most of the season?
2) Nonsense. Saban would have been canned if all he signed were 3 stars. It would however be interesting to see Nick and his staff reach game 12 without 24 scholarship players due to injury and see how they fared.
3) Dabo can handle the criticism of fans. Comes with the territory. What should also come with the territory is that he actually knows what he's doing.

Most recently is what he did this summer to help first responders at a serious accident scene. But it goes back to his playing days. I forget the exact year but I think he was a senior. He had his hip dislocated in a game. Mighty FSU was coming to DV the next week. Medically I'm not sure how he did it but he played the next week against them. The guts and will to win he showed told me all I need to know about him.

This post is pretty ignorant. Insinuating coaching doesn’t affect the product on the field is mind blowing. Are we going to ignore Cincinnati’s success? They barely lost to UGA last year in a bowl game, beat ND this year, and are headed to the playoff with these ranked classes.
2016 - 74 2017 - 63 2018 - 49 2019 - 66 2020 - 41 2021 - 45
Development, schemes, play calls ALL matter. Try to base your opinions off of some sort of factual information.
