Coldest Game in Death Valley?
Feb 24, 2014, 9:28 AM

For me - 1986 vs USuC. The 21-21 tie game and it was COLD, son.
I remember people building fires on the side of the road while waiting on the traffic to let out.

Here's another agreement for the sleet in '72. Upper deck, made it have through the third qtr. Had to leave.
If I was as old them as I am now would not have survied it.

The Panthers first win in franchise history-over the NY Jets
Feb 24, 2014, 9:44 AM
|
|
OK, it wasn't the temperature that got the fans.... As a matter of fact it started out as one of those days where it was hard to choose between shorts and short sleeves and pants.
But about mid-way throught the second quarter, a cold front rolled through, leaving most of the stadium shaking in bitter chilling winds while sitting in short sleeves.
Miserable.

left the game at half to go change clothes in the car and thaw my feet...my wife(girlfriend at the time) and sister did not return to the game and listened on the car radio...my brother-in-law and I watched the game standing on the bank next to the visitors locker room...I believe Jimmy Williamson batted down a 2 point conversion attempt at the end of the game to preserve the win in the end zone right there by us

So cold that my girlfriend of 9 months wanted to leave, and I did not. Needless to say the argument escalated and I left the game a single man.
