Maybe Elliot will just step it up? That could happen too.

For TE to step it up, he will need a new playbook, and that's out of the question bc, he has proven he can't scheme a play unless it is straight in the middle of a D lines strength!!!!

What? TE can’t step it up

Seriously not the point. TE is without a doubt ALL IN, but he inherited an offense from Chad Morris and generational talent to execute it. The game has moved on. TE needs help, in a major way.

Did Napier win two national championships and lead us

through the greatest stretch in Clemson football?
The parallel doesn't work.
Elliott will not be fired. His resume is as strong or stronger than any OC in the country.

Elliott will not be fired - he will be offered a demotion and removal of play calling responsibilities. He may resign.
As for Elliott having a resume "as strong or stronger than any OC in the country", do you believe Elliott is an OC in the same category as Joe Brady or Lane Kiffin? If yes, do you anticipate an NFL team will be hiring Elliott as their OC or an SEC team will hire him as a HC? Please confirm ...

Perhaps Dabo will look at returning to a true Co-OC set-up that operated so effectively during our hayest of hay days. Wouldn't even signify that TE wasn't head coach material, just that running this team's offense, where we high rotate many skill players on top of a dynamic approach to plays, could use two people working side by side to properly execute it on game days.
Go Tigers!

I get that’s your opinion on Elliot

but why do I hear you saying that as sure as the sun will shine tomorrow? I mean do you objectively think that with the plethora of issues this team has had this year that there is enough data (not opinion, not feel, not 2021 stats) in Dabo’s mind to demote his OC? Genuine question.

Nothing’s a given, but if it ain’t working it needs to be fixed. I haven’t seen anything much actually working on offense.

My question is how do you arrive at firing or demoting the guy that helped get us to this season with all the success we’ve had, solely on this seasons performance alone? Call me crazy, a pumper, whatever, but the math don’t work. I’m asking for someone to quantify it because I don’t believe you can.

IMO, I think that Dabo should do something about getting an experience OC, and what ever he does with TE other than being the OC, and calling plays, I would be OK with. But I don't think, or believe that Dabo really gives a fat Rat fart what any of us here on T-net think, he truly don't, and he shouldn't. But he better give a lot of thought of why his offense has tanked since TL16 leaving for the NFL. I honestly believe that DW4, Jeff Scott, and TL16 helped to mask a bunch of TE's inabilities on the offensive side of the ball!!!

In fact, Caldwell knew coming into this season that it was time to retire. Dabo afforded him that with this season.

You want to see the offense in shambles for another year? Elliot has proven this year he is ineffective without the best of the best at the skill. I believe in Dabo and I believe he knows what he has to do. I think you do too. You just enjoy being difficult.

No, he won't be offered a demotion or have playcalling taken away from him. Elliott isn't going anywhere unless he wants to, and that would be a loss.
Elliott has done it for six straight seasons in college, and Brady did it one.
He's a great offensive mind, but how many wins, rings, and trophies does Lane Kiffin have?
Elliott may eventually go to the NFL, but I think he enjoys the college game just fine. Wasn't his name coming up in the last Cowboys search? Who knows, some guys are just more into college. Like Brent Venables. Like Nick Saban. Some guys don't give a crap about coaching in the NFL.
Yes, there are tons of SEC teams that would love to have Tony Elliott, but I don't think he wants to go anywhere anytime soon.
Yes, when you look at the resumes, TE is "as strong or stronger than any OC in the country".
Just google "best college coordinators".

One I'd like to have back. BN was in way over his head in Dabo's early days. Napier was not set up to succeed. His career as progressed very well since 2010.

Yes sir, BN has done very well since leaving Clemson, and I wouldn't be opposed to having him back involved with the offense in some compacity!!!

Make sense that Dabo would defend every coach on his staff and make changes after the season is over, but Tony Elliot will be our OC coach next year.

If Dabo really thinks we need a chance at OC, Tony will accept a HC job somewhere. There are any number of G5s that would love to have him and probably some lower level P5s. He is a brilliant guy.. I dont know how much of this is his blame but if it is, then it will be just a need for something fresh.. not because he cant do it.

Tony Elliott has a track record that’s far superior to Billy, come on now, Tony has done a good Job coaching period.
Dabo has to stand behind him but Dabo has the foresight to chance if he needs to but until he does he will stand behind his coaches & players.
Let’s let the man that built the team work through getting this team back on track. If you don’t trust Dabo, who would you replace him with.
They’re many teams that would take Dabo in a heart beat, we need to stop taking him for granted. Dabo will come through this a better coach than he has ever been.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see us go on a run of consecutive National Championships after this, like Dabo said we’ll be laughing about this in the future.
Let’s go Tigers, keep the faith first in God & then in our Tigers to fight back like the champions we are!
