Let’s see if LSU can sustain the success. They can have one year. I’ll take 5 years of great results.

You'll get no argument from me. It's doubtful they will be able to continue getting the key Rent-A-Players that they need.

Let’s see how LSU’s program going forward. Clemson using Dabo’s system has been to 5 consecutive playoff appearances, and to the 4 consecutive NC game appearances winning 2 of those 4. Right now I am going with Dabo’s program and his rule not to accept transfers.
IMO LSU reminds me of the the Florida Marlins. They basically traded for last years NC with players from other programs. Can LSU develop their own players into an Elite team. I don’t think you can put LSU in the same category as Clemson, Alabama and OSU until they have a more successful resume and have proven they can maintain that high level of success.
I am “All In” with Dabo.

Here Here!!! Dabo has taken what he personally believes in, and doing it all the right way, and he has been very successful doing it his way, and nobody can argue with the facts that he has set with how to build and maintain a successful college FB program without cheating or taking in FB players that had a chance to be a Clemson Tiger before they chose to believe the BS out of other coaches mouths!!!

I think its a net positive although I do wonder if it will be relaxed this year if some teams aren't allowed to play.

I DO KNOW THAT WE INDEED DO HAVE A TRANSFER ON THE TEAM. LONG SNAPPER FROM UTAH ST. I KNOW THIS BECAUSE A BUDDY OF MINES SON IS TRYING TO WIN THAT JOB. THE TRANSFER IS NOT ON SCHOLARSHIP. GUESS THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE.

Still a finite number of spots available by rule; Dabo's...

said many times he prefers to build through the "draft"/high school, but if the need arose then yes. As the staff would in the case of a JUCO; Clemson was in deep with one when needing some DL help.
Haven't had much need, but every program manages walk-ons, a player would need permission to do so.
Clemson needed a QB when Machine Gun Kelly knocked Dabo's juice box out his hand...
https://www.greenvilleonline.com/story/sports/college/clemson/2014/05/01/clemson-lands-qb-transfer-stanford/8554125/
There have been more than a few over the years, not nearly the fanfare of those that have left.

That was after he allowed George Smith to transfer from Texas A&M. He said he would never take another transfer, and he never did.

I love it. A part of the reason I’ve lost interest in basketball
May 13, 2020, 8:19 PM
|
|
is that it seems like we recruit half our roster from other schools. It feels like a bunch of mercenaries. I know that comment will upset some people. Nothing against the guys, it just holds less interest to me.
Dabo focuses on getting guys who Clemson chooses and who choose Clemson. They commit to the program and the culture. The results speak for themselves.
I have no doubt that LSU fans had a blast watching last year’s season, but they lost EVERYONE. Players and coaches. Like these MLB or NBA teams that are built for a championship and then get dismantled. I get it. I just don’t enjoy it. I’ll take the stability of the program that creates Clemson men over the LSU model every single day.

So 2 teams in playoffs had transfer QBs. But as far as sustainability is questionable. You build a team through years of playing together.
That said, I bet if Dabo was missing a QB or a kicker, a single player that could change his season, I bet he would spin the wheel. That said, I agree that you don't build teams this through transfer's. What's the odds of a Burrow that never made huge game difference until his 5th yr.
Go Dabo-Tigers!
