Did they simplify things for CK today?

Seems there wasn't nearly as many play calls that called for CK to make decisions....the rpo wasn't used much If at all... most the play calls seemed very straightforward and didn't leave CK many options...seems like they made things simple and it helped

Or zone read. Just straight handoffs. Plus the passes were quick reads.

Probably considering he's playing with a ankle/foot injury.

Cade's passing tortured ND's defense all day. He will hitting crossing routes on the fly with perfectly thrown balls which led receiver rather than throwing behind them.
Cade did well enough to keep our defense off the field with those long offensive drives. With so many starters out ND would have torched us early and often had the d not remained rested and ready.
We saw a different guy behind center today.

He hit quite a few of those wow throws clemson fans haven't seen in awhile today. The int was on the wr but I'll give Collins this much he made up for it the next drive on a critical first down catch.

He played great...but I think making things simple lead to that....cade struggles making split second decisions

Yes somewhat. Some may have been because of his foot. Most myself and @JP discussed it this morning. GR called a game very much what we talked about. I tried to repost the thread and couldn't. But either way, it's what we saw on film. We played ND on offense and defense like Duke, Louisville and NC State tried to do.

He called the same game he called all year, the online just gave Cade more time. It’s not complicated.

It probably had to do more with the new lineman than Klubnik.

Watch the game…. He had a full second or more Time to throw, makes a world of difference if the QB can go through his professions… please don’t post anymore

Not the point. There was no read options, no rpo...none of the things that make CK make split second decisions....
They removed all of the plays that's overwhelmed him all year

No, the RB (mafah) was actually running the ball and not running over OLinemen. Cade isn't dumb! If the RB isn't getting but an average "falldown" of 1.7yds (barely over 5'), then why not try to get creative sometimes at his own demise? Amazing when a player runs the ball not up the back of OL and actually bounces for at least a 6yd average on 30carries.
I know that is Ship negative but that isnt the point, Ship isn't a run up the middle guy. Put him in space, isn't hard but been beating a deadhorse all year with playcalling. Ship cannot break tackles, needs space, period!

Exactly, I never understood why they always try to run ship inside. Ship needs to be in space. And I’ve been hearing O lineman telling me for 2 years they want to run block and they feel like they do it well. With Mafah running inside, I hope they continue
