Seems he is not playing consistently or well. Do we have alternatives?

Oh my gosh, you guys never quit. We will be freaking 11-1 when the calendar turns to January and there will only be a few teams with that kind of record.

Is that a yes or a re-direction. I’m happy with where we are but is he the guy?

If we lose one of the next two games, I’m blaming it on Valley coot for jinxing it.

Chase can deliver but it does seem as if he's been off a bit here over this last little bit. It would be great if Beadle can get some extra time in these next two games and step up for us down the ACC stretch there. Having depth and competition at PG will pay big dividends if it comes about.

Evidently not

First, gotta remember that he is not a PG, but a SG (which is scary) playing out of position. He is not able to pass or get other players involved with his shoot first mentality. His brother is a PG historically, but has the same problem with the ball. That leaves the Tigers with Beadle, who has been given chances, but the results have been disappointing IMO. I have wondered if Girard & Chase switching positions would have a better chance of getting the ball in the hands of the post players more often and getting better movement in the offense…

Last year, Chase hunter averaged more assists per game than any clemson PG since ed scott. People that say, "he cant pass" are either ignorant or incredibly dumb.

Maybe you can accept WONT pass

In BB’s “jack it up” offense last year, there was rarely more than one pass per possession. Not a whole lot of assists were made by the team. Chase appears to be a stat-first guy to me.

just posted in another reply, historically we're dreadful under Brownell at assists. Averaging 12.6 assists per game over his tenure which places Clemson in the mid-200s of Div 1 teams, on average, over a 13 year tenure.

We averaged 14.3 assists per game last season which was the highest under brownell. It was good for 5th in the ACC behind miami, Duke, VT, and UVA. It's hard to take you sereiously when You say "there was rarely more than 1 pass per possession." You must not watch the games. That's the only thing that makes sense.

He is a combo guard and not a pure PG, but he is the best we have. He is still pretty solid.

Brad has never placed an emphasis on true PG and it has shown. We average 12.6 assists per game over his tenure. That averages to the mid 200s or bottom quartile of Div 1 basketball programs. We're at 17.3 this year which explains why we're 11-1 not a more typical for Brad 8-3 at this point. For comparison, we averaged 14.5 assists per game under Purnell. Still not great. Not even good really. But puts you right around 100th in Div 1 on average which is a fair bit better than the 200s.

Stats can be manipulated in many ways... per game statistics do not account for pace.
First off, brownell's offenses have been much better the last 7 years including this year. We are averaging 13.9 assists per game over that span. During purnell's last 4 years, his teams averaged 15.9 per game. It's hard to compare per game data because purnell's teams played at a much greater pace. For example in purnell's best year, the team averaged 15.7 assists per game. We took 2,191 total FG (9th in the nation) that year and had 535 assists. We assisted on 24.44% of field goal attempts.
This year we have 173 assists on 600 FG attempts. We are assisting on 27.88% of FG attempts. That will probably go down a bit in ACC play.
Last year we had 485 assists on 1,923 FG attempts. We assisted on 25.22% of our FG attempts.
So last year we were more efficient in assists per FG attempt than we were during purnell's best year.

We need to do what exactly? We have a good one who should keep us in the top 25.
