Before everyone freaks out...

Michigan OSU loser will drop behind us. So will Louisville when we win the ACC. No worse than 3rd in the final poll for Clemson.
Would love to see a Alabama/ Louisville matchup in the semifinal game bc I would hate to have to beat them both.

That seems to get overlooked, but I do know that it has been about when a team loses, and how much time there is left in the season. Early losses are easier to regroup from, but our strength of schedule, and winning our conference should play a huge part in the final results. Time will tell.

After Saturday, I doubt we could beat either one.

You must of missed where Lville escaped with a last minute touchdown vs. UVA and was trailing WF 12-10 late in the second half last night.

The poll that matters is the playoff committee poll on Dec 4th.

I agree win and we are fine. However, I think these polls lose credibility when they fail to use basic logic. The pundits find it ok to rank a team ahead of another with the same record that has beaten them and has a stronger SOS. What the eye test against UVA, Duke, and Wake should put them ahead of us?
If the role was reversed, there is no way we should be ranked ahead of Louisville.
I would love for the committee to shove it their face and we the media asks come back with are you really asking me this. Clemson beat Louisville head to head.

Another point I'd like to bring up besides the fact that we beat louisville in a head to head. Ohio state, who they have ranked #2, lost to Penn st.... Pitt beat Penn st. Who beat Ohio state.... but somehow Ohio state jumped over Clemson.... questionable??? Idk you tell me.

I agree with you, we should be ranked ahead of UL. But, the argument UL would make is, who had the better loss.

Well, there are two points actually. Yours is fine, no debate with it, really. BUT, when folks object to the polls, they aren't necessarily saying your point is true, it's more just that the current poll is wrong. I mean, even if things play out well, it's simply inexcusable on any logic to have L'Ville over us.

This is what I thought the rankings would be...but like the silent Trump voters, I was afraid of the backlash for having UL 2 spots ahead of us. Lol

I had been saying the same! Ohio state will win out, IMO. Keeps the number #2 spot.
Bama wins out, #1
Clemson wins outs, and gets the number three spot.
Question is, does Washington win out and win th PAC 12 getting the 4th spot. Or does Lville sneak in. I think its the Huskies.
Giving you. Bama vs Clemson OSU vs Wash
agree? #21

2 and 3 play and 1 plays 4 so it would be us and Ohio state if poll finished in that order.

As with the Coaches Poll....why do we care - these polls are irrelevant. The CFP Committee poll is all that matters.

They should have played better against everybody else. Granted, we had a let down Saturday, and that is inexcusable, but their total body of work is not nearly what ours is. We really missed Hyatt and Fruemorgan. 2 tries to get a yard, and our OL couldn't deliver? That is a problem of epic proportion. I had hoped the OL would be a huge strength for us, with quality depth, as well, but I have been so disappointed in them again this year. That needs fixing.

Lol, thus proving why things like the AP poll and the Heisman trophy are meaningless. What kind of SOS do those teams that they put ahead of us have? Exactly. The media is too much of a "what have you done for me lately" crowd.

I don't think the playoff committee will see this as the AP or Coaches polls do. My prediction is that we come in at #3 in the committee's poll this week. They put a lot more emphasis on conference standings, SOS and things like that.

Yeah, the FPI is the biggest load of crap ever.

I don't see the point of bringing it up. It's just an imaginary index.
Saw that Clemson stat scrolling on the ESPNs all day long. Biggest upset in CFP history based on the FPI!!! Know who is second? MICHIGAN v. Iowa yesterday. Michigan was 1% behind us in certainty to win. But I don't hear thar loss being echoed from the mountaintops. Both are equally bad losses, but that's one of the great things about sports. Anything can happen. Just seems like our loss is getting more attention though.

What are the ACC refs ranked this week?

Unbelievable! Two programs complain about referees costing them game against Clemson , then we thoroughly get screwed over. Evening it up? Sounds pretty "Swoffy" to me.
