How can Clowney be #1? Seriously the guy had a good freshman season and better but still over-hyped sophomore season. The he has a junior season where he'd play a few snaps at 100% make a tackle here and there, then come off the field and join Spurrier for some colonics and gerbal therapy. But, based on ranking out of high school and on the field production he's #1? ###? His sophomore stats were skewed as well. Going into the Clemson game he had 8.5 sacks. The Tiger OLine decided to let him look for the Hendricks award under Tajh as they stood by and waved him in the direction of the QB. He finished that game with 4.5 sacks. This list is crap from the top.
Robert Nkemdiche @35????? This kid has done NOTHING!
Didn't Tebow win two National Championships and a Heisman...Clowney #1!
56 OL Luke Kuechly Boston College Class of 2009: NR 45 Report<-----Based on ranking out of HS and production he's 56th?
39 OT Taylor Lewan Michigan Class of 2009: 148 31 Report<-----The guy who owned Clowney in the bowl game. He was not the guy blocking on the illegal hit heard around the world.
Christain Hackenberg <------- This guy at 71 above Tajh Boyd at 74. 32 TDs and 25 picks 2014 270 484 2977 55.8 6.15 79 12 15 44 109.4 31.8 35.7 2013 231 392 2955 58.9 7.54 68 20 10 21 134.0 56.6
Mr. Boyd 2010 CLEM TD INT 33 63 52.4 329 5.2 4 43 3 107.7 2011 CLEM 298 499 59.7 3828 7.7 33 65 12 141.2 2012 CLEM 287 427 67.2 3896 9.1 36 69 13 165.6 2013 CLEM 283 413 68.5 3851 9.3 34 96 11 168.7
Terrell Pryor 2008 OSU 100 165 60.6 1311 7.9 12 56 4 146.5 2009 OSU 167 295 56.6 2094 7.1 18 76 11 128.9 2010 OSU 210 323 65.0 2772 8.6 27 65 11 157.9
Other question marks... Percy Harvin above Sammy? Aaaron Murray at 26? Vic Beasley at 298???? ###
AHHH I can' even look at it anymore. Message was edited by: clemson man7®

SCAR has 5 , but every one is from the Palmetto State ...
Feb 18, 2015, 1:17 PM

|
Clowney, Lattimore, Gilmore, Jeffery, and Cann
The state just hasn't produced players like that recently ... which helps explain the "5-peat" and illustrates the change in momentum leading up to the beat down they got from the Tigers this year and the current condition of recruiting at Clemson vs SCAR.
Note that six of our 8 on that list have come from out of state. And this year and next, we are locked into the #1 player from South Carolina too.

You hit the nail on the head. I told my coot friends before the season, during the season, and after this season - that they would struggle because they had been living off elite in state talent...That was their calling card. This state doesn't produce that type of talent year in and year out. We recruit FLA/GA/NC MUCH better than they do, which leads to more sustainable succuess!
Suck it coots!

I'd take at least 5 QBs ahead of him.

Really? 2 Naty's and crazy college production. They weren't doing a draft lottery. The list was based off hs rating combined with college production. When I first saw the list and him at #2, I knew something was up. But it makes lots of sense seeing how they compiled their rankings.

If it's based on production sure

but if you switched Tebow out for RG3, Trevonne Boykin, Kaepernick, even Rakeem Cato from Marshall, that Florida offense is just as potent if not even better

Lesean McCoy didn't go to Miami

McCoy played for Pitt in college gotta wonder what they are thinking. May explain why they have Tebow behind the Clown which shows they aren't thinking. Tebow is the most dominant player easily out of the list as much as I hate Florida

Personally, I would say that Tebow is right up there as the best college player I've ever seen. All he did was win and create highlight reels. He defined leadership, was quick to take credit for bad and passed his praise on those around him. He led by example. Remember the press conference when UF lost and he said we will not lose again this season...he meant it and he got the troops rallied behind him. From an all around perspective, I call him #1.

Not much crediblity, IMO. Very skewed in favor of the owned conference. I didn't expect anything different.
