for those saying Cade was in “garbage time”

GT had several starters in on his drive, particularly safety and CB, 4 and 7, that he picked apart. starters #0 and mouthy #2 were also in.
their best WLB #1 was out for targeting, but they had their next best in #17.
they weren’t playing their scrubs. they were doing the best they could. i guess they were tired. maybe they gave up, but it doesn’t look like it based on their personnel.

They didn't know how to defend the rpo when the qb was a viable run threat. I'm not gonna drag DJ anymore, the scheme has to change if Dabo is hell bent on playing DJ over Cade.

If the scheme was going to change that would be something implemented in the off season and not at the start of the season.. So, I personally don’t see that as a viable option.
“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”
It didn’t work last year and it won’t this year. Dabo as great as he is, he’s loyal to a fault, sometimes!

That’s actually not the definition of insanity.

If you think Dabo isn’t going to play Cade because of his loyalty, you’re kidding yourself. He’s been here before and won an NC based on his decision.

The scheme did change.

They took away the option. RB option was always a handoff determined from the bench. Some pass plays included a fake to the RB and some were just drop backs.
DJ got a pro set playbook. It is what it is.
Dabo insist on nothing at this time. Change at QB is a process not an event. You don't complain about the runner when he is rounding first, you cheer him on toward second, then third while hoping he makes it home.

It’s GT, the whole game should be “garbage time”

Especially when the D gets an INT on the first play and sets you up in good field position to start the game.

Remember the blocked punt that put the ball on their 5? Two runs up the middle and a DJ stumble. We made it on 4th down with Ship but we were very limited. The playbook is wide open with Cade.

I disagree. I don't think the playbook can be entirely opened unless they get the oline issues fixed.

So what if it was “garbage time!”

Does anyone here think any team in America had a linebacker who is fast enough to have caught Cade when he rolled out on the strong side? Does anyone here think that when he saw his receiver (Swinney, I believe) a step ahead of the corner crossing the field that he might have misjudged the speed of the safety he saw coming toward the receiver and not put enough on that pass to make the ball get to the WR's gut before the safety could get there? You can see Cade's head turn toward that safety.
It wasn't as if GT's secondary was off growing corn on the other end of the field. We didn't have WR's running wild while the GT's secondary napped on the bench. Cade can soft toss, he can throw frozen ropes and he has wheels, 24".

Cade would have thrown a TD no matter who was on defense.***

I expect he will make a lot of other teams look like “garbage time. He performed quite well, IMO. He can only perform when our coaches put him in. When they did, he made it look very easy. He made it look like a rather routine accomplishment, IMO.

Yeah, I doubt GT had the scrubs in; they had kept it close

and had no desire to see it get out of hand late. In fact, they were probably hoping to get a 3 and out so they could get 1 last drive for points themselves. Collins is on the hot seat, no way he just sent out the 2's and 3's to give up a potential score.
