If Biden was serious about his illegal invasion

He would just revert to the Trump policies that he repealed on his first day in office.
A $116B bill with $60B to Ukraine is not a serious attempt at stopping anything.

Title 42 was only able to be used to supersede Title 8 because of Covid. Nice try.

Covid was winter of 2020. Trump was in office until 1/20/21

The Trump administration put Title 42 in place based on a 1944 Health Act. It suspended migrants from claiming they are refugees and then seeking asylum. The legal justification was based on public health considerations created by the pandemic. From a practical standpoint, it allowed US Customs and Border Enforcement to directly capture and remove illegal migrants who crossed the border. Over three years, Title 42 enabled the Border Patrol to directly remove 2.8 mm migrants. Title 42 was removed in 2023 since the Covid pandemic was over.
Perhaps a similar national emergency could justify administrative policies or an EO similar to Title 42 but it would have to withstand legal challenges in court. Existing immigration law allows migrants who have been apprehended and in the removal process to seek defensive asylum protection. This puts them in the immigration courts which are overwhelmed. In addition, they are allowed to remain in the US while awaiting immigration court which can take up the 4-5 years.
Existing immigration laws offer significant considerations for refugees seeking asylum. Administrative policies can temper these considerations but are subject to legal challenges.

When did Trump enact 42?

And who repealed Title 42?
This whole bit about Biden is powerless to do anything else is absurd. And it’s even more absurd while he’s been backing mayorkas for the last 3 years!
And… as much as the libtard system wants to tell you these “refugees” are seeking “asylum” they are overwhelmingly not. They’re just coming here for a better economy and to enjoy our tax dollars and freedom… while it’s still here!

Congress needs to pass stricter and clear immigration laws
Feb 7, 2024, 8:55 PM

… that remove dependence on administrative policies and EOs. This dependence allows legal challenges.
Stricter definitions around refugee, qualifications for asylum and limits should be part of the new immigration legislation. And add some funding for border security assets and staffing.
Sure people come to the US for economic reasons but can claim credible and reasonable threats. That is why the laws need to change. Until laws change, there will be significant vacillations in policy based on administration and courts.

Congress didn’t have issues with the definitions for the past 260 years. Why do you think we need to change definitions now?
Also, here’s a list of things that we don’t need: – $60 billion to Ukraine – Mayorkus – Removing the ability for states to defend themselves – DC having exclusive jurisdiction over these cases – Putting into law rulings, that can be “constitutional or otherwise. “

Title 42 remained in effect until May 11, 2023. You guys were screaming "border crisis" for 2 years prior to that. Where would you like to move the goal posts and do you want me to give you a hand?

qualifies as a national emergency.
This is as serious as it gets, yet the left and 'moderate' pubs act like it's no big deal. "We need them to pick strawberries and cut your grass."
Our govt has paid at least $20 billion to accommodate our invaders.
TF?

There should be no funding for Ukraine? Or just no funding for Ukraine wrapped up in a border package?

"No more money for Ukraine until we fix the border to the satisfaction of congress."
But we probably shouldn't be sending money to Ukraine without a lot of other things resolved, like an audit of the money already sent.

I would not be opposed to such a statement IF there's a guarantee that every piece of border legislation isn't getting shot down simply because Trump wants it shot down so he can take credit, which is what happened here.
We need action on the border NOW and waiting until January if maybe Trump gets elected isn't realistic.
I'm assuming you understand and agree with the importance of keeping Ukraine out of the hands of Putin. I'll remind you of your arguments for the Iraq war where you said we needed to stop a dictator who was brutalizing the people...

Vladimir is a brutal dictator and likely a war criminal who initiated the conflict by sending troops into Ukraine.
No issue making sure the money is properly spent AND there a reasonable end game. Zelenskyy has no plan for an end game, only a fantasy of defeating Russia.

Ling story short, Trump supporters support brutal dictators and have no morals. Completely void. You are subservient to Trump. That's fine. Just admit you aren't a man.
