These are all of the QBs that Streeter signed while QB coach:

Kelly Bryant
Tucker Israel
Zerrick Cooper
Hunter Johnson
Chase Brice
Trevor Lawrence
Taisun Phommachanh
DJ Uiagalelei
Bubba Chandler
Cade Klubnik
Christopher Vizzina

Trevor was great. But the rest... Yikes...

the kid made 1 good throw that was more of a great catch and people want to hang him a banner up some where.

never understood that infatuation with that kid.

Normally this board lambasts any athlete who transfers once let alone twice like he did but for some reason he is on some golden pedestal.

I wouldnt say yikes about KB who got us to playoffs, played on XFL champion team last year and has been in Candian league 3yrs. Just got passed by a phenom.

Chase Brice was great at App St and plays in Canadian league. Plus he saved out bacon that one game.

Definitely not ready to say that about Cade. Dude is young and only played one season, he can play 3 more if he wants. All the good QBs last year werr 5th and 6th yr guys, takes time to mature for most QBs. I think Maye is the only QB in the draft with 4yrs or less ecpected to be top 5 QB.

You obviously didn't read the post.

I said we are elite at TE, DT, and LB.
I said our CBs can be really good and that Avieon could be an All-American.
I said that I loved our DEs.
I said that we have a veteran group at safety, so no concerns.

I didn't even say we sucked at the other positions. I said Cade was a game-manager at QB. I said Mafah needed to carry the load but that Haynes offers us something at the RB2 spot. I criticized WR blocking but complimented Antonio, Randall, and Wesco for making plays. I said LT was a concern but that we should have a capable starter at OC.

KB was not yikes. He was just replaced by a generational talent. He even went on to Missouri and was good there. Also we all know that he wasn’t the primary recruiter for all these guys. Heck DJ was pulled in by BV. Streeter was in a bad spot trying to improve the offense from 2021. In 2022 we did improve across the board. Problem was it wasn’t the offense it was the talent. We saw that last year when we got worse as an offense even with GR. If we don’t get back to the talent level across the board like we had from 2011 - 2020 we won’t see a great offense again. Yes I include 2011-2014 because outside of 2014 we had great offenses. Even in 14 when DW4 played we were great.

Is this not true of every OC/QB coach? Almost every team signs at least one QB every year but most never contribute in a meaningful way. At places like Bama (under Saban) they signed an elite QB every year and had top shelf OCs but the vast majority of those QBs never saw the field.

Hard to keep track of Bama's OCs. They are gone after 2-3 years.

Streeter was the QB coach for 8 years at Clemson. Much larger sample.

There are many elite teams like Ohio St or Michigan or Oklahoma who have a similar list. All of which sign multiple elite QBs (based on star ratings) but few ever contribute in a meaningful way.

Joe Burrow (1st overall pick)
Dwayne Haskins (1st rounder)
Tate Martell (bust)
Matthew Baldwin (who?)
Justin Fields (1st rounder)
CJ Stroud (1st rounder)
Jack Miller (who?)
Quinn Ewers (probably a 1st rounder)
Kyle McCord (average)
Devin Brown (TBD)
Lincoln Kienholz (who?)

Ohio State signed 4 QBs from HS that will end up being 1st round picks, and signed a 1st round pick from the transfer portal while Streeter was the QB coach at Clemson.

I wouldn't compare us to them.

Seems like that was a good fit for him. He never really had an opportunity on the field at Clemson.

But no recruiter gets a diamond QB every time. Gotta go through a lot of rocks to get there.

But 1 NFL caliber QB in 9 years? And that 1 was a guy that was one of the highest rated recruits of all time. Trevor was elite when he stepped on campus.

I know it's in the past and doesn't matter anymore. But Streeter turned out to be a pretty bad hire by Dabo.

But, I have full confidence in Garrett Riley. It's just so unlikely that he will be here for that long.

2022, yes. KB would have beaten South Carolina. Maybe even Georgia as well.

I'm not sure about 2021 or 2023 though. That 2021 team was decimated by injuries. The 2023 roster wasn't good enough for KB to elevate to the playoffs, IMO.

You're mixing 21 and 22 together.

2021 Clemson went 10-3 with an overtime loss in Raleigh and a 7 point loss to UGA with a QB who threw 9 TDs and 10 INT.

2022 Clemson was 11-3. Would have even gone to the playoffs still if DJ had a pulse against SC.

BTW, Trotsky - I've genuinely enjoyed the tear you've been on last few days and rarely disagree with you lately.
