It depends on what the situation is.

Both are really good. IMHO Shipley is more likely to give us the big play but Mafah is MUCH harder to take down. I don’t know why we don’t run more two back sets especially given our passing struggles.

Shipley goes down to easy and is not very good at blocking as well.

that we otherwise would’ve lost. The guy has more heart than anyone on the offensive side of the ball.

I think he has the most potential but still looks too much like a high schooler. Kinda like Cade.

We would have two more losses if we didn’t have Shipley.

Wouldn't necessarily say Mafah is better than Shipley. He is a different style back that will get the tough yardage. He is more of a north/south style of runner that gives us the ground and pound we have not had since James Davis. While Shipley is more of a small speed back that is a capable receiver. Both good backs in their own way.

IMO Ship is closer to James Davis than Mafah. Ship doesn't have that ETN/Spiller top end home run speed but his vision and swiss army knife value is awesome.
Mafah is like a more dynamic Reggie Merriweather.

touches with the weak passing game. I’d like to see at least 20 carries for each back & hopefully they will allow receivers to get more open.

A good first cut, not quite consistent break away speed (70 yard td runs), a decent blocker, but with better receiving hands.

Because Shipley is the better back. He averages 6 yards per carry to Mafah's 4.5

Hope you're right, but I doubt it. Only 4 RBs have gone in the 1st round in the last 4 drafts combined.

I think Mafah needs to get a lot more touches. He don't try to dance around a tackle he more or less says ok you try me. Shipley is very good also but seems to struggle sometimes in pass blocking.
