Masters cell phone policy

are prohibited on the grounds. How is this enforced having never been? Also I wish the rest of the pga tour would adopt this policy to a certain extent. Maybe allow phones in, but must be kept in pocket on silent and can be used at certain areas of the course and you will be asked to leave if you violate this. Nothing more annoying than watching golf on tv and the patrons at any given tournament watching every shot through the screen of their phone. Maybe it’s just me. I feel every body is looking for that shot or vid to post on social media.

you will be escorted off the property and lose your credentials permanently. That is a big risk if you're using someone else's tournament badges. I've seen it happen. Security is everywhere and they are always watching.
There are also metal detectors at the entrances.
You can bring cameras for the practice rounds but cell phones are never permitted.

Believe me they are very serious about this!! I went to a Tuesday practice round and had on a holter monitor with a cell phone being used to transmit data. They were refusing to let me in even though phone had a sticker stating calls cannot be made from the phone. Finally had to raise hell and demand a supervisor. He came, looked at the phone, gave the guard a ####### look and let me in.

Security is everywhere and they have no problem escorting your buttocks off the premises. Every rule there is strictly enforced. And they will also ban you and revoke your priveledges. They don't play!

I used to know the actual cop who had an office that security all went to on the course. He had a draw full of cellphones everyday from rich dudes who thought the rules didn’t apply to them.

I wonder if that applies to playing there also? Reason I mention it is I had a friend who was invited to play a round at Augusta about 10 years ago. Thinking about it now, he never had any photos while playing but he had his score card and bought some cool gear.

I agree it's a shame it happens. Worse is people don't think they can be away from their phone for a minute, much less a few hours. Sheesh.
Just for fun, how about a single tournament where the fans can yell at the players like in baseball.
"Go back to put-put" "We want a golfer, not another duffer" "Swing golfer, swing" "My grandmother can hit farther than that" "Did you ever think of using the fairway"
By the way, these apply to me. I may not be very good, but I sure am bad.

The Masters is just a class outfit. They don't allow anything to interfere with the integrity of the game.

It’s the most prestigious club. It makes sense for them to have the most strict rules to keep traditional etiquette in line. You also can not run. No backwards hats.
You also can not drink. Which is why I will never play there (like I’d ever step foot on the course).

If you get caught, you lose your tickets - forever. When I loan out my tickets, they are clearly aware of the rules. I know of a friend who gave his tickets to his pastor - who took in a phone and got caught. Yes, they took his tickets.
You are allowed to take them on practice rounds.

And decided to move, I was pulling this along behind me and they tackled me and gave me the full body cavity search. I'm now banned from the course.

in society. I've been to several practice rounds and to the tournament twice. Everybody plays by the same rules. It doesn't matter if you're a billionaire Saudi Prince, if you break the rules, Augusta National shows no favoritism.
