Vic Beasley: NFL Combine success fueled by...peanut butter?
The Secret of My Success was a 1987 movie in which the character played my Michael J. Fox gets ahead in the business world with a can-do attitude, street and book smarts and a determination to succeed. Former Clemson defensive end Vic Beasley has all of those attributes, along with a freakish athletic ability and …….peanut butter. Clemson grad Tony Villani breaks down Beasley's big week. Somebody must have offended Vic by saying he didn't have SEC speed, strength, or vertical jump.

Great job Vic ... Serious Question ...

Phenomenal effort by Vic Beasley. Pulling for him to have exceptional NFL career. One serious question: If V.B can gain 15-20 lbs of muscle and increase his speed in the 40 by two tenths of a second in a few weeks, what does that say about our nutrition and training program? How well could Beasley have performed in his new body for his entire senior year?

Think the process through... They are doing nothing but training during this time. When they are on campus and being a student, their time is divided by scheduled activities, classes, film room, homework etc. You double, triple, quadruple their workout regimen they are going to increase. That shouldn't be that hard to figure out. Proud of you VIC! GO TIGERS!!!

and training table that all it took was peanut butter and a few weeks of training. But it could also be said that these training techniques are geared for the sole purpose of putting on a show at the combine. The numbers in these events don't perfectly translate to the football field but they do to draft status. At Clemson, I doubt (*hope) we train them with bench presses and 40 times in mind.

Actually, I think I read it correctly the first time. It was Hood's 2nd attempt at explaining it that left me confused. Wish he'd stop typing at Vic Beasley speed...or proofread.
