Realistic List of Coaches for S. Carolina

Dan Reeves - It's time to bring Dan home. I think if "Mama called," he'd be on the next wheelchair-accessible bus to Columbia.
Joe Gibbs - Would keep the Redskins pipeline alive.
Lloyd Carr - He had a great run at Michigan. He's involved in broadcasting, so just like Lou Holtz he probably would like to get back into coaching.
John Robinson - No, he's not dead. He's in broadcasting, too. He recently coached a high school team, so he will connect with today's recruits.
John Cooper - Has been keeping current on Xs and Os by working with the Bengals. That NFL experience would really complement Hoke's great scheme.
Pat Dye - He's never been comfortable watching from administration. His willingness to push the edge of the envelope when it comes to NCAA rules would provide an immediate recruiting boost.
Mike Ditka - Iron Mike could really change the culture. He almost came to Clemson way back when, so I think it would be hard for him to turn the Gamecocks down.

How about Jim Tressell? He is to sweater vest what the Old Ball Coach is to visors, and would definitly make a fashion statememt on the sidelines.

Really hoping Tressel takes a job somewhere else. Hopefully OBS really does stay another 5 years.

NC coaches have not worked out so I think they step up their game and go after NC / Super Bowl champions coaches. Look for Barry Switzer or Jimmy Johnson to be dressed in black. You heard it here first, lol.

There's going to be tons of options at the end of the year

Personally, my candidate would be Coach Norton. He's a man of integrity and he teaches sportsmanship. Plus, he already loves "Sweet Caroline."

Good one What's bad is if I was Tommy T, I sure wouldn't leave Cincinnati for S. Carolina. In my opinion its a move in the wrong direction. I mean, he might want to get back to the SEC, but if you at a school with somewhat low expectations, only some slightly decent history, all recent, no Natl Championships, and crappy recruiting draws, and they are happy with you, why go to SC? You have all the same battles except there they actually think they are winners. I guess that One conference Title in their history back when Teddy Roosevelt was in office lends them a bit of cred. I mean, just because you play in a conference that has good teams, does not make you won. You don't see Vandy fans talking chit unless its about their Grades or Daddy's Bankroll. The list of coaches that I have seen on FGF was insane. Dave Doren? Why? Tom Herman? umm no, these guys know what Dumpster Fires look like when they see them. Kirby Smart? Yeah, because he so desperate, I don't think so. Mack Brown? A couple even mentioned Chip Kelly... Let that sink in for a moment. Wow, they grown some really good stuff down by the pallet yard. Charlie Strong is probably the best they could do if he gets canned this year in Austin, which sadly I think will happen.

Coach Tuberville has had good stops at Texas Tech and Cincy since leaving Allbarn. He wants one last shot in the SEC and one would guess his agent would calling Tanner.
Otherwise I think Tanner looks for a younger coach who can build the program. He knows former coaching legends won't touch Usuck after Holtz and Spurrier flamed out after brief success, especially with the East division becoming much more difficult. Usuck has to have someone who can recruit nationally or they will return to the SEC basement in a hurry.
Go Tigers!

He'd be a good match to Frank Martin and we all know he was 40 like forever ago.
