I bet he's more of a gamer than a recent five-star who's going to suit up in Oregon next season. Gritty. Gutty. Physical. I like his film. No offense but I hope we can recruit better than him, but I wish him well.

You are judging him the same as about 90% of the people who love college FB only bc he has a little too much body on his frame, but his film is actually no different than the film we will see of every player posted here on T-Net, but he is performing his job what looks to be better than the most of them even though he is bigger than the ones that play the positions this kid plays.
T-bone/Pork chop, whatever you want to call him, he is pretty dang good at what he does even with the extra weight. He won't get many if any chances at the D-1 level bc of the extra weight even though he may do the same job as a prototypical QB or LB does it. Is it fair to say, no it's not, but we're not the ones that's going to feel his pain over being rejected bc he is just a little bigger and doesn't measure up to the position size that he plays as well as the guys that are seen as being the right size....

DJ played on one of the best teams in the country and was more than a gamer there than some backwater school in SC. So, no offense, but your comment is ridiculously comical. I get you don't like DJ, but stop being idiotic about it. He's gone, move on.

Oh, and Dabo and company are recruiting other QBs, obviously, and talked to this guy about the possibility of walking on. Relax, chill and take your morning pill, dude. Two national titles and some of you still think you know more than the head coach and you really don't. Sounds like my own fan base, actually and they don't have anything but money. Wasted money at that.

Maybe Dabo's evaluation and comments will help him land at a smaller school. It's not a bad reference.
Good luck Pork Chop and may you be a T-Bone wherever life takes you!

Speaking of Hunter Renfrow, I remember one game when we were scarce at QB and Hunter came in as a backup at QB.

Wonder if he is quick enough to be a slot receiver? Dude would probably be tough to bring down and sounds like he wouldn’t mind blocking.

My son lives in Camden. Might have to go check out a game if they are in town some weekend we are there.

Or let him be the up man on punts to call the snap and use

Him on fake punt attempts or as a blocker. He could do that 100% of the time. He can block, he can run and he can pass! Great football IQ.
The options are almost limitless. The only problem at QB full time is his height. In college, the linemen are much taller than in high school. He would likely be forced to rollout a lot. However, he throws so good on the run! So there is that.

If we could get him as a preferred walk-in, he would be…

A great utility guy! Heck, I would love to see him play on both sides of the ball. Put him in the backfield, get him the ball, run it outside behind the line of scrimmage to create space and choose to pass it from there or decide to run it.
Even used as outside LB or rush DE on D at times. Just so many wrinkles you could use him for.
