My post had no football success intention. Would you rather say, “I graduated from a strong academic institution and got a great job,” or would you rather say,”I graduated from a school that won the National Football Championship but I am still looking for employment.?”

I agree that Cal and Stanford are excellent additions from an academic standpoint. The best additions that could possibly be found from that standpoint. But it really does baffle me seeing how people care so much about academic reputation within conferences. I mean, aren't the conferences for sports? Yes, the individual members are colleges and the conference does give some academic awards to its athletes. But besides that, the conferences really have nothing to do with actual academics. They're just sports leagues. Educational matters are all handled within each school, and conference membership doesn't really create any sort of academic partnership between the member institutions either, those are also handled by each school independently. So I really don't understand why people want to judge the academic reputation of a college based on what other universities are in it's sports league. I mean, are you really going to look at a Clemson degree differently than you did before because Stanford and Cal are now part of the ACC? Normally, I'm the guy that advocates for the importance of academics, but I just don't see why that is relevant to league that exists exclusively for athletics. Or maybe it's just one of those things where public perception matters, even if it doesn't really make sense.

How about we let you enjoy the books while we continue dominating on the football side of things? We'll both be happy.

Pretty sure Tennessee hasn’t won a championship in football since 1998.

4-4 in the SEC East. Real domination that is. How bout y’all do us a favor and concentrate on beating the Coc*’s this year. At least try not to get blown away again.

Sure keep on “dominating”. Self-awareness - you should try it.

Were you born yet?
What’s your playoff record again? Oh yeah, 0-0. That’s a big fat zero.
You don’t win a prize if Alabama or Georgia win a title.
You sound like a vicariously living coot.

Uh OH, you don't win a prize if a team in your league does well? There goes all the coot's aspirations, they been living off coat tails for 30 years.

Best education is a technical college or trade school

Traditional colleges and universities today are freak shows run by brain dead liberal administrators and the professors are even worse. Young people, often times, leave college ill prepared for life and come away with a warped view of life. Soft and weak fragile people who cry if the wind blows and need a safe space.
Go to a technical's college or trade school and be around smarter and sensible people. Come away with a useful skill, no debt, and make money.
However, the reality is that Clemson is much better than most universities. UGA is a freak show on steroids and I still remember my battles with my wacko professors

Penn State is one of the toughest 4 years to get into. I’d include them in the Big 10 as they are pretty prestigious and that’s where my wife went.
