Who would jump at the opportunity to have Dawn Staley

coach our men's team next year? She appears tougher than most of our players, so I do not see her losing the team or their respect. But to see what she puts on the court is impressive. They are fast, incisive, and aggressive, they are a well-oiled machine with tremendous fundamentals and unrelenting toughness.. We need that at Clemson or we are letting our players down, they deserve Staley.
If we offer her Brad's salary and let her bring her own staff, it would be a done deal, she would get to make history in the sport.

I am contending that she could do a better job coaching our men's team than Brownell. f you would like to argue along or against those merits then feel free to join in.

Maybe she could also coach our offensive line?

If Clemson’s OL could block like the women Coots rebound, then Shipley could get 2000 yards!

No thank you. I’d as soon Clemson stop competing in ALL sports than to ever have that racist on staff at Clemson!!

I agree Dawn Staley would not be a good fit for Clemson in any capacity. She attracts too much negative attention.
I want to win in basketball too. Sorry but on this issue Togerbalm1 I have to disagree. Dawn Staley is poison. She looks for controversy and reasons to play the Race Card !

SC batted that idea around, but wouldn't do it. They know more than we know about her.

6 years ago? Maybe. Today? Not so much. South Carolina's current women's basketball team was not particularly well coached. They rely on a monumental talent and size advantage and actual coaching appears to have taken a backseat this year. Same thing happened to Auriemma at UConn. You get used to operating with a massive talent advantage and lose some of the high level coaching that helped you build that talent advantage.

Staley is responsible for them having that monumental size and talent advantage. That’s part of being a great coach.
But, why don’t the Cawks make her coach of their men’s team, which is worse than ours? I don’t think she would have the same success recruiting top tier male players

I could not care less about a person's politics, everyone is entitled to their beliefs and should not be judged upon them. What I admire are people who work hard and are good at their jobs.

I’m guessing she would give some of the money back because she thought

We were overpaying her. And we’d insist, no you’re a winning coach you deserve it, and she’s say no that’s too much. But then the last time we insisted she would say ok and she would appreciate it and be even more determined to win.

a coach is even necessary. A team without a coach can miss the NCAA tournament just the same as a team with a coach. Why not allow a GA to coach, get similar results, and save a bunch of money that can be better used on football?

I would not allow another coot to coach any team at Clemson, but I would take almost anyone else over Brad Brownell. A middle school coach with a winning record would be fine with me

Transfer, much less thought he was awesome like most poasters on here. Toughness and athleticism is what this team needs now. We have enough “good shooters” and “high basketball IQ” guys. We need some dudes who can freakin play even when the shots aren’t falling…Dawn would accept no less!!
