YOU apparently haven't thought this through......

Next year, they'll use a "hurt QB" to get an SEC team into the Playoff. As in, "Alabama wouldn't have two losses, (and indeed is better than Clemson) if only their Quarterback had not been hurt in the last two games."
The year after, they'll start actively seeding based on what they want instead of what happened. As in, "The 2-loss Bama team is better than an undefeated Clemson team and thus gets the 8-seed, while Clemson must play their initial game of the CFP in Tuscaloosa as the 9-seed."
And finally, they'll simply ignore teams that aren't part of the "Premier Level" of CFP, inviting 2- and 3-loss Texas A&M and LSU into a playoff that excludes Clemson altogether. They'll even cite FSU's being left out of the 2023 CFP as historical precedence.
YOU agreed to this Elitism - an Elitism that simply sets itself up as the Winner with its own Rules - when YOU agreed to let Wake Forest and Duke and Georgia Tech go by the wayside on the way to SEC membership. YOU wanted to set Clemson up as a "Premier team", different from the lower half of the FBS 120, and so asked, no, begged to get the Tigers into the SEC.
And as soon as YOU said, "Treat us different than Wake Forest", they said, "We'll be happy to treat you different from Alabama as well."
Alabama = Liverpool Georgia = Man United Texas = Arsenal Ohio State = Manchester City Michigan = Tottenham Penn State = Chelsea
There's a reason why only these 6 teams have won the Premier League in the last 30 years. ONLY these 6 (except the miracle of Leicester City). There's also a reason why Real Madrid has won 5 of the last 10 UEFA Champions League trophies.
Rich Elitists always set themselves up to win.
The Founders knew: when the Rich Elites come for your right to be treated equitably, they take it all....

Oddly, in the last 10 years, FSU won one and Clemson won two.

All three of those Championships came before the new TV deals

separated the Truly Rich from the rest of CFP.
Right now they're simply stratifying the top 50 or so based on the new deals for the B1G and the SEC. BUT.....
even within the old SEC and B1G, there was already active stratification on-going.
When's the last time Mississippi State won anything? Arkansas? Kentucky? Tennessee? South Carolina? Missouri? Ole Miss? Northwestern? Minnesota? Indiana? Illinois? Purdue?
Either Michigan or Ohio State have won the last 7 B1G Championships, and in the last 20 years, only 3 other teams have joined that list.
Either Alabama, Georgia, or LSU have won the last 13 SEC Championships, and in the last 23 years, only 2 other teams have joined that list.
There are clearly "Haves" and "Have Nots" within theses conferences already.
So, why do the Fools on this Board believe that the HAVES of the SEC are going to share kindly with New Member Clemson when they don't even share with existing members of the SEC?
Like I told the guy below, make sure to pick up your COW BELL on the way out....

Dude, you’re the one bringing up time spans of 20, 23, 30 years for comparison.
Here’s your sign.

Clemson won’t be in the ACC much longer. None of this affects Clemson. None of it. Listen to Dabo… He has told everyone what is going to happen. Believe him.
Clemson‘s prior teams got in because they were indeed top four teams. This Florida state team, even with Travis, was not a top 4. We all saw that when they played us in death Valley this year. A very good team…..not a top 4 team.
The committee screwed up by ranking them that high to begin with.
The ACC, as we know it, will not exist much longer. Again none of this affects Clemson. Again, Listen to Dabo…

tell me then, even as Mississippi State and Arkansas have been part of the SEC for 30 years and more, at least,
WHAT EXACTLY have either of them actually WON?
It's like I said, "when you asked to be treated differently than Wake Forest, they said, 'we'll be happy to treat you differently than Alabama as well.' "
Make sure to pick up your Cow Bell on the way out....

It really isn't this complicated. When there are only 4 playoff spots each year, it stands to reason that the elite programs with the best talent and resources are going to dominate getting those slots. In fact, since the CFP era started in 2015 through last season, 29 of the 36 available slots (81%) during those 9 years have been taken up by 7 programs.
Alabama 7 Clemson 6 Ohio St. 5 Oklahoma 4 Georgia 3 Michigan 2 ND 2
Going to a 12 team playoff will certainly open this up for more programs to have a shot and I think that is a welcome change.
