E.J. Williams announced his intention join Clemson's 'WRU' brand with a commitment at his high school on Saturday.
Williams had been a frequent visitor at Clemson over the year, making stops for Elite Junior Day, the spring game and All In Cookout. He picked the ACC Tigers over LSU, Alabama and Auburn. Williams is a consensus 4-star prospect and rated as high as the No. 102 prospect in the nation (247Sports). He totaled 40 catches for 668 yards and eight scores last season. The 20th commitment to Clemson's 2020 class strengthens the Tigers' grip on the No. 1 spot in the 247Sports Composite, topping the 300 points mark (304.25) ahead of Alabama (294.81), LSU (292.23) and Ohio State (291.54). He is a second receiver commit in the class, in addition to rising 3-star prospect Ajou Ajou (6-3 210). Williams is set to join two former Central (Ala.) teammates at Clemson in receiver Justyn Ross and safety Ray Thornton.
